"Ihenacho - who was claimed off waivers by the Redskins prior to the 2015 season - was able to stay healthy for the entire 2016 season, tallying the most defensive snaps among the team's safeties with 636.
While the San Jose State product had his productive moments, he also understands that there's room for growth and the opportunity to make more game changing plays.
Despite finishing third on the team in tackles (77), Ihenacho did not create any turnovers.
"I wish I could have got my hands on a couple of more balls," Ihenacho said. "Obviously I'm really critical of myself in meetings. I know I can get better, I know there's a lot of plays I missed out on that I regret not capitalizing on." Link - ( New Window )
I was there and remember how that situation was pretty scary, given how long he was laid out on the field. Glad to see he wasn't knocked off the field for too long.

#NYG expected to sign former Redskins safety Duke Ihenacho tomorrow, likely in time for OTA 3.0, source confirms.
Ihenacho 10 starts in 2016
Ihenacho does have solid veteran experience which is probably something similar to our singing of Rahim Moore. That is something the front office is obviously looking for this off-season.
If you look at how our safety depth is shaping up, Collins and Adams are decent, but after that we have a lot of younger largely unproven players with the likes of D.Thompson, M.Thompson, Berhe, Pinkins, Johnson, Murphy and Robinson
Berhe, D.Thompson and M.Thompson have ability, but they do need to show they can stay healthy.
Either way the competition for safety is shaping up to be quite strong this off-season.

Collins is decent? Landon?
A slip up, I meant to say Collins is great and Adams is decent...
Doesn't hurt to add more competition to the safety group
We only have one proven player, and that is Collins.
Yes, Landon Collins is the only proven player. FS A. Adams can "hold the fort" again if need be but I'd prefer D. Thompson to be healthy and starting all year. Ihenacho adds depth, a possible 5th safety and special teams player?

The question is, who did they let go? Is Behre/M Thompson still here?
Prince signed with the bears and we don't need him back

We need Prince Amukamara back along with Duke.

Personally I believe we need a Valentine and Winthorp in our defense after signing Duke.
And King Dunlap and Sir Henry Anderson

who is worst tackler is, Duke or Jadar.
While that might be a competition, determining the worst poster is getting easier every fucking day.
Adams is ok but needs the reps to quickly develop some play recognition so he can get involved in getting to the ball/carrier and finishing quicker.
