Anyone watching this E60 on Ryan Leaf?

Very well done.

I never liked Leaf, but props to him for turning his life around.
Has he?

That's not meant as a swipe at the guy. I think he's the poster child for "One day at a time." If he's ok today, great. Let's not assume anything about tomorrow.
Great Dane, I highly suggest checking out Leaf's article

that he penned for the Player's Tribune. He definitely seems like he's turned his life around, and has become a better man for it.

And is expecting his first kid this year. He seems to have turned his life around. Good for him.

I read that. I don't question his sincerity or his effort. That article was great. But, y'know, addiction is the devil.

All addictions are destructive and the biggest addiction out there is to "ourselves" - we LOVE ourselves and our DESIRES before those of others more often than we care to admit. My point is that "yes, addiction is devilish" in nature it can certainly be arrested when you have the support, encouragement, love and community needed around you to maintain it. Unfortunately, we live in a legalistic culture and the way we've treated addictions to date is so far from the truth of how they should be treated that there are "cultural norms" and "stereotypes" that are very difficult to overcome, but overcome we shall because the combination of bio, psycho, mental and physical studies (you can say science) is pointing us to totally new horizons and approaches. I am praying for Ryan Leaf who expressed how his lack of ability to cope when he was younger (immaturity) triggered his downfall. Kudos to him for his efforts and for this piece.
Aww the rest of his life he has to live with

"what could have been".

I know people peripheral to the college career of a star QB at Pitt. People who knew the man never thought he'd straigten out with the NFL. Miami drafted him and he got it together, at least enough to enjoy a great great NFL career.
I wonder if there's one specific instance that changed him and I wonder what Ryan had met with that one instance. Life is strange, moves too quickly and has no reverse gears or computer keys saying "undo". All the shame!
