That's not what I'm not talking about.The point was if guys are losing there jobs,and evaluations are being made,than perhaps these voluntary practices should not be brushed off as nothing.

Well I posted that on another thread, I did know it. So you can say yes, they're not mandatory because the league didnt prioritize that over something else in negotiations.

So the question is why. And the answer is that they're not super important. They're for installing scheme for guys who dont know it. Why do so many other guys go? It's beneficial for getting into things Im sure. But I bet a lot of vets go just to avoid being on coach's shit list. So basically pressure to volunteer their time to make boss happy.

Joey, while a year ago I would have totally responded with a resounding yes. But the thing is, he is a young player who enjoys his time off. I would much rather he not burn himself out and enjoy playing for the Giants. Shockey was the same way.

Players these days sometimes need to be given a length of leash before falling in line with their career goals. He doesnt hamg with a bad crowd, he doesnt do drugs, he doesnt fuck with guns and he diligently works out on his own. Him dropping balls in GB was just as much because of the enormity of his first playoff game that no amount of practice can cure.

Lastly, these OTAs are really just installations for the new players and players poused to take on a much larger role. Why in the hell do you want ODB doing that? Well they're all free to not attend. Also, if they dont know that he's so special, they're probably very, very stupid. Guy is one of the great talents to ever lace them up. If he can avoid injuries he;ll cakewalk to the HOF.
