It's all over the tabloids, Page Six link below.
Not sure how to feel about this.
I'd rather he was at OTAs, but if he's not, I gotta figure bowling with Iggy Azalea is a lot more wholesome than almost anything he'd be doing off-the-field with Manziel.
Odell Beckham Jr. skipping practice to hang with new girlfriend Iggy Azalea - (
New Window )
Beckham tweeted for the first time in a while yesterday to say that the media were making a story out of nothing. If they both were at the same training facility and the article writers used that in order to cast aspersions and mischaracterize their meeting, it'd make a lot of sense.
Gronk just got a double payday with them; not sure if OBJ will get his with the Giants.
I like OBJ and have even defended his antics, youthful funloving , sometimes immature behavior, but I would have thought he would have cared more about being part of this new group of weapons on offense, especially after the Miami thing and his crappy playoff performance, or respecting the team image, and respecting the situation of Eli's short window and doing all he can to get the Trophy once more for him/for the first time himself and been ALL IN.
I have to begin to wonder, even if Marshall is here for 2 years, if the Giants will draft or sign a #1 WR next offseason , with their young slot and TEs receivers apparently in place.
Maybe it's time to find another hobby?
In same essence you can look back, if that's the case, to gb game as well.
Doesn't matter.. he's a "me me me type guy"..i applaud the guys who showed up at the "voluntary" OTA. They don't have to either, but they have a "right mindset
My god, how dare a guy in his early 20s go out and do something so outrageous.
We need to trade this bum while he still has value.
I second that idea. It'd save a lot of shitty threads from having to exist.

If and when Beckham takes a slant to the house for a 75-yard touchdown in Week 1, I expect a good 40% of the people here to gripe about how he missed voluntary team activities back in May.

What makes it "the right mindset"? Is it what makes you feel better? I fail to see how anyone can judge what the correct thing to do is.
These reactions are that of player who didn't workout, came in overweight, and spent the offseason drinking and doing drugs.
Guy went bowling and drank water. Think about that for a second...

It's getting worse. Everywhere you turn, you can be caught on camera..Someone in Albany has a video of you and your shopping cart..

I stole some kids radio flyer wagon and got rid of the shopping cart.
selfish. he should've just taken a piss to save time!
Just show up on Sundays - that's really all that matters
(take that for whatever collective morality NFL fans have for what you will)
Seems like everything is one extreme over the other. I'm not enraged that OBJ isn't at a voluntary team event, but I'm also not thrilled that he opted out of it either. After what he left on the field during that game in GB last year, I was kind of hoping he'd be a bit more motivated to improve (yes, even OBJ can improve).
There are only 10 OTA days and he is missing three this week. How many times do you think Jerry Rice or Larry Fitzgerald missed practices that were not mandatory?
OBJ is an amazing talent and the best WR we have had ever. Unfortunately his head is not 100% into this and I do not see him having a LONG successful career.
As others have said this isn't a huge deal, but I really don't want to hear him chirp about how winning a Superbowl is his #1 priority, he's proven it isn't.

Very reasonable post

The correct answer is yes, but on here, no chance. Life outside of football is bigger now than ever before and these guys not only workout and prep differently but they have money making opportunities elsewhere.
Beckhams shoe deal is something he doesn't get if he isn't socially popular. He's active on social media and its paid off for him big time. He also has a workout regimine and there's no way anyone can say that isn't beneficial.
Too many people with too many opinions on what's best for a player makes for a bad thread/s.
Well, her ass ain't awful!

all I can say is that he is not taking his job as seriously as those who showed up. Is he a leader on this team or not? He has a few new team mates on offense to get in sync with. He should be here lining up with Marshall, Engram, and Shepard. Working things out with Eli because last year the offense struggled.
There are only 10 OTA days and he is missing three this week. How many times do you think Jerry Rice or Larry Fitzgerald missed practices that were not mandatory?
What I do know is that some really good Giant players over the years, whether it be LT, Banks, Strahan, Armstead or Plax all missed significant time in TRAINING CAMP using guises of holdouts when they mostly just didn't want their bodies to get banged up.
Not sure how missing OTA's factors into this. Randy Moss, TO, Ochocinco, the other Steve Smith and Dez Bryant are among some of the WR's that skipped or missed offseason workouts, and it had a negligibal effect or none at all on their play.
But hey, a 20 something who parties on a boat, gets ass tattoos, bowls with a skanky rapper and plays catch with Johnny Manziel must have his priorities all out of whack, right?
Did he shit out football? Because if he's not eating it, sleeping it, or shitting it, then he's a piece of garbage and a cancer to the team.
Hehehe
Maybe it's time to find another hobby?
This x100000. The article actually covers what he was wearing and what he ate at a goddamn bowling alley.
chicken skewers, chicken tenders, pigs in a blanket and assorted desserts.
I want my star receiver on the Brady diet: lots of vegetables, a bit of grass fed beef.
I'll defend any player that isn't at a voluntary workout. If I was a Rams fan I wouldn't care that Donald wasn't there, same with anyone else. The Giants winning or not winning a superbowl will have nothing to do with X player coming to or skipping a BS practice on May 25th.

Is a great leader, just great. he has won shit, and yet no matter what he does he gets defended
Well, he was on the team that went to the playoffs last year and his clutch catches in three games directly led to wins.
He hasn't won a Super Bowl, but he's really only been on one team that had the personnel to even make the postseason. The "he hasn't won shit" argument is such a malleable one anyway. Tony Romo won two playoff games in his career, right? And yet even as a Giants fan, the shit he took for going to Cabo was ridiculous. Steve Largent never won shit, either - and he's supposedly a great guy.
Beckham gets raked across the coals, even by Giants fans for ridiculous shit - the only reason he's being defended is because most people don't give a fuck who he is hanging out with and what he's eating when he's fucking bowling. If you think that's pertinent, then that's really the issue, not the people defending him.
All i can picture is this, but I'm sure it's not who it is. At least I don't think Beckham is hanging around with Ziggy.
Voluntary...then everyone shouldn't show up..its worthless..they should do away with otas

Somebody help pjcas18 out and post a pic of Iggy Azalea... rear view...please

But that's not who he is.
Meanwhile, if the OTAs are voluntary, this is a non-story. If people in positions to make such decisions want the players there, they should make them mandatory.
Otherwise, it wreaks of bullshit mind games.
I think we know how serious and dedicated OBJ is to football, to the Giants, and to winning.

Professionally, she does this a lot
