I am surprised that Williams was cut. He made it all the way to the active roster last year despite not playing in a game since 2013 and switching positions. He was on my list of players who might surprise this season.
On the plus side, I don't think the Giants were counting on Moore, and there's a pretty good chance that at least one of the young safeties will step up alongside Landon Collins. D. Thompson and Adams are the primary contenders. M. Thompson has a chance to stick as a CB/S swingman, and Nat Berhe hasn't concussed himself off the roster just yet, though I don't think you ever want him playing centerfield. The newest addition, Ihenacho, probably competes with Berhe for a backup spot behind Collins.
Jay: Maybe Williams showed up for OTAs in less than top condition?

A player in his situation doesn't have much room for error. One or two lethargic OTAs can be the end of the road.

.@Giants release Ishaq Williams, McAdoo curt: "We liked the way he worked when he was here. I'll leave it at that."
That seems to intimate that he didn't show up at times he was supposed to be there, or that he showed up late. It's reading between the lines, yes, but that's what that comment gives the appearance of.

Exactly what it sounds like. Another guy who blows the golden ticket he was handed.

To me, it seems to confirm the tweet that the Giants are hoping to place him in IR if he clears waivers. They liked what he showed when he was there, as in, on the field and not off because he's hurt.
LB Ishaq Williams was waived/injured, per source. Giants could put him on IR if he clears waivers.

I have a feeling NYG likes him but wants to continue his development. I hope they can stash him on IR.

This guy has missed so much football that he really can't afford to spend another season on IR.
