Cruz Responds to "Suppression" Reports

I'm sure he was about to get lambasted and given the Tiki treatment here!

I think you can tell Cruz is just having a hard time right now. For those making the Tiki comparisons... Tiki would say what he'd say, then later when challenged either completely double down, or repeat the same ridiculous comment with the caveat that he loves and respects whomever he was trashing.

With Cruz it's been very different. He's saying dumb shit but then immediately saying the exact opposite later. I'm giving him a pass for the time being. He's proven plenty about his character and loyalty and I'm not going to let a couple poor comments as he currently looks to find a job for the fist time in his career cloud my opinion of him.

all Giants WRs at all times. BBI told me so.

There's unedited clear video/audio of you saying these things.

People only deny things with that type of evidence and get away with it in politics, man,

of him actually saying the Giants suppressed him.

Vic is making a habit of saying dumb shit and then blaming the media for spinning things or taking them out of context.

For a guy who has been here in NY and dealt with the media for quite some time now, it sure doesn't seem like he's learned much.

but it does not come off nearly as bad as it was reported. DJ Envy introduced the idea and Cruz kind of shrugged it off but then he came back to it later on his own.

But overall Victor comes off as a nice guy. Not arrogant or full of himself.

I'd agree that it's not quite as bad as reported, but he pretty much said the team wanted to cut him, and they knew the fan reaction would be a lot worse if he'd had a good year, so that drove things. It's a pretty bad thing to say about the team.

Cruz' name is always thrown out there for the ROH. I get it: local kid; great story, more media friendly ....but I never hear anyone clamoring for Nicks who arguably deserves it more.

Victor is not close to being a ROH-level player. If he hadn't had that horrific injury, yes, I think there is a chance he would've gotten there.

After watching the video, I can tell those headlines are without context.

He's not bitter at all and gives lots of respect and appreciation to the Giants and Eli.

But his diminished opportunities had to do with him not being able to get open, not some conspiracy to prevent him from getting paid.

Cruz wasn't targeted because he couldn't get open. On two thirds of his dropbacks, Manning looked for OBJ first. Often, despite the fact that OBJ was double-teamed and not open, Eli would try to force the ball into him anyway.

In week 15, the only time Cruz was targeted in double digits, he caught eight balls.

But I don't like his chances to stick with Chicago or any other team. Receivers who left the Giants for other teams - Steve Smith, Manningham, Nicks, Randle - have not done well.

Coming to grips with losing your career at what should have been your peak is not an easy thing to do gracefully.

at 7:00, then listen there for a couple minutes. He basically said he could tell halfway thru the season he wasn't going to be back, and that's why they threw him the ball less.
If I was a 1000 year receiver, the perception to the fans
would not have good optics, as a 500 yard receiver,
'let's get Cruz off the books'...I don't hate the the guy,
doesn't sound that good though, everybody move on.
Where is that show 'The Breakfast Club' located, just curious?
