Our Friend Josh Norman is at it Again...

arcarsenal : 5/25/2017 2:06 pm
Quote:
I've chatted with Stephon Gilmore up in Buffalo, and way back before that game, he called Odell Beckham Jr. a prima donna.

"There's not even a word. I hope I don't catch him outside. Let's just say that."

Quote:
So what was your conversation with Dez Bryant then?

"He's trying to be a tough guy and that's not him. That's not how you play ball. The media really created this "talk trash" with me. I don't really talk to these guys. They're talking to themselves. I just play them. And then they get a little snippet of me having a conversation with them and blast it on ESPN. So now when I go up against people, the coaches tell them: "Don't talk to Josh! He'll get in your head!" My coaches think I have this magic wand and just automatically make these people do something crazy."

Quote:
So when you think of Odell, what is his game?

"He tries to be a tough guy. He tries to put on this persona which he's not. Because he's always going to have his head on a swivel. Always. Always when we play each other. He's scary like that. He does things that he normally wouldn't do because of all the pressure and added hype that he has to put on his whole persona. He's not this guy. If you go back and watch the games in which we play compared to the games we don't play each other, he's a totally different guy."

Quote:
"Trust me when I tell you, it's going to be bad blood this year. You think the NFC East didn't like each other before? This year right here? There's going to be a lot of fines and maybe some suspensions. I'm going to be honest with you: This shit is going to get really ugly. Because I do have a safety that don't give a fuck and I definitely don't. And I know they don't have that many people on the offense who do on their side."

Just trying to stay relevant, I suppose.

They should suspend him for a game right now

Wonder if Josh enjoyed watching the playoffs?

It's funny because he continually accuses Odell and Dez of "trying to be tough," and numerous times, he says things like "I hope I don't catch him outside" or "I wish I would have let myself go" (in response to the 2015 game)

Everyone knows Josh Norman wouldn't do a damn thing if he caught one of these WR's outside of a stadium.
I mean, it didn't seem like he enjoyed his last playoff game

if Norman

blew up at Munnerlyn.

I did find this:

Quote:
A three-time Pro Bowl pick, Smith has had trouble controlling his temper. He was suspended for a game in 2002 after punching teammate Anthony Bright during a film session. Smith received counseling for anger management, and a lawsuit filed by Bright was eventually settled out of court.

I remember when Michael Westbrook broke Stephen Davis's jaw on the Redskins, too.
He tried to get in Odell's head

FatMan in Charlotte : 5/25/2017 2:51 pm : link
what happened when you take Norman out of a zone and have him lose the protection of All-Pro LB's. He becomes ordinary.

But he's still loud as fuck - that hasn't changed.
Just realized
ryanmkeane : 5/25/2017 2:51 pm : link
if not for that dumb Skins home loss, we would have gone 5-1 against the NFC East in Ben's first season. 4-2 ain't too shabby either.
It still kills me..
FatMan in Charlotte : 5/25/2017 2:53 pm : link
that part of the reason we lost to Washington is because the refs lost control and threw Richberg out of the game, while Norman got a free pass.

They flat out targeted the Giants and I'm still pissed at that.

Is a great player, this guy is a decent player, I thought he was pretty bad last season when I watched, every little thing he does they have to tell you how good he is, he just isn't that good. So he makes up for that with his mouth, I wouldn't even post this shit, it's not worth it.

is how laughably bad that writer is. I'm surprised he was able to even ask any questions with Norman's dick halfway down his throat. It reads like a clown from ExtemeSkins won a contest to interview Norman.

Quote:
Initially, it's difficult to hear him. As his daughter squirms on his lap, Norman speaks so softly, so quietly. Lean forward, listen up, and each word cuts like a knife. It's as if his mind and voice are racing, each thought hurdling over the next. Norman views the cornerback position in the NFL as mano-a-mano mental and physical warfare. And in that process, he slows the game down to the millisecond...then attacks.
He's talking about D.J. Swearinger

Interesting that the Skins have signed 2 of the dirtiest players in the league in Norman and D.J.

Could not agree more. What a douche-chill inducing read.
As awful as all of that was, I actually do agree with this

and I think most here probably would too if you forget Norman is the one saying it.

He's gotten much better at controlling himself, but he has made some bonehead decisions when all the cameras are on him. I actually read that quote and it's almost a compliment of Beckham. He's basically saying he's a better dude than the guy who makes those mistakes.

Oh yeah. It's Majir Murline now.

He gets stopped by TSA all the time now though.
Let's see...
T-Bone : 5/25/2017 4:27 pm : link
In the first game Odell had 7 catches for 121 yards (with a long catch of 26 yards). Norman had 5 tackles and 1 assist.

In the second game, despite sitting out most of the second half (per Eric in his game review), Odell had 5 catches for 44 yards (with a long catch of 15 yards). Norman had 4 tackles and 1 assist. I should also note that Norman picked up AT LEAST two personal foul calls in this game as well (it's hard to tell in the video who the flag goes to because they cut it off in the video below before it's announced but you can see Norman going after Beckham after the whistle blows... again).

This guy's a clown and not nearly as good as he thinks he is. He's not a bad player... he's not even an average player... but he's not nearly as good as he (and it seems most of the media) thinks he is.

My bad...

I wanted Odell to score on this play so damn bad.

He turned into a monster at that point - that was where you could see he had focused all of his energy on just beating Norman on the field. He just needs to continue to do that and this fucking clown will never have a shot against him.

Norman is going to have his hands full with Marshall too. Marsh is a big boy.
I think he means

Cravens moving to S & maybe Nicholson from Michigan St as far as hitting safeties . As a player , he reminds me of Mark Collins. Collins without the porky attitude . Oh he's good .

Pretty sure its their new safety Swearinger. He has a reputation as a hitter. But good luck. Plenty of safeties have tried to line up Beckham for the big one. Thing is, if they miss, its 6. Who was it last year who tried to flatten ODB in the end zone after he made the catch, got two feet down and Beckham spun away from the hit?
Honestly,
chopperhatch : 5/26/2017 1:53 am : link
ODB has nothing to prove given how he has fared head to head against Norman. That means he really needs to stop taking the bait. Hopefully this year is the turning point.

He can't beat Beckham physically so he has to run his mouth.
A few thoughts
Matt M. : 5/26/2017 9:04 am : link
1) In general, I don't pay his nonsense any mind.

2) The last posted comment deserves some attention from the league though. He is basically saying he will play dirty and the officials that do a Giants-Skins game should be on alert. they need to flag him early and often if he pulls anything. Had officials called the game properly against Carolina, OBJ never snaps. Why? Because Norman would have been flagged on the first play and that probably would have been the end of it.

3) He is just begging for attention, so don't give it to him.
Clearly Odell has gotten the better of Norman
AnyoneButPhilly : 5/26/2017 9:32 am : link
I think his only option at this point is to try and get in Odells head and throw him off his game or get him to throw a punch and get himself kicked out of a game

Pretty much.

He knows that OBJ was slowly tuning him out (especially in the 2nd game against the Redskins) last season. He also knows that, physically, he can't do much against OBJ, so he's planting a seed for the regular season to bait Odell into a repeat of the Panthers game. This is another version of bringing bats to the field. He's purposefully hinting at dirty play to throw Odell off ahead of time.
