I've chatted with Stephon Gilmore up in Buffalo, and way back before that game, he called Odell Beckham Jr. a prima donna.
"There's not even a word. I hope I don't catch him outside. Let's just say that." |
So what was your conversation with Dez Bryant then?
"He's trying to be a tough guy and that's not him. That's not how you play ball. The media really created this "talk trash" with me. I don't really talk to these guys. They're talking to themselves. I just play them. And then they get a little snippet of me having a conversation with them and blast it on ESPN. So now when I go up against people, the coaches tell them: "Don't talk to Josh! He'll get in your head!" My coaches think I have this magic wand and just automatically make these people do something crazy." |
So when you think of Odell, what is his game?
"He tries to be a tough guy. He tries to put on this persona which he's not. Because he's always going to have his head on a swivel. Always. Always when we play each other. He's scary like that. He does things that he normally wouldn't do because of all the pressure and added hype that he has to put on his whole persona. He's not this guy. If you go back and watch the games in which we play compared to the games we don't play each other, he's a totally different guy." |
"Trust me when I tell you, it's going to be bad blood this year. You think the NFC East didn't like each other before? This year right here? There's going to be a lot of fines and maybe some suspensions. I'm going to be honest with you: This shit is going to get really ugly. Because I do have a safety that don't give a fuck and I definitely don't. And I know they don't have that many people on the offense who do on their side." |
Just trying to stay relevant, I suppose.

Man this guy is a joke.
Everyone knows Josh Norman wouldn't do a damn thing if he caught one of these WR's outside of a stadium.

Steve Smith needs to break Josh Norman's jaw again.

I thought he broke Captin Murline's (SP?) Jaw
I did find this:
I remember when Michael Westbrook broke Stephen Davis's jaw on the Redskins, too.
But he's still loud as fuck - that hasn't changed.
They flat out targeted the Giants and I'm still pissed at that.

Apologies I thought it was Norman.
F that punk.
Captain Munnerlyn.
Al Alburquerque?
Interesting that the Skins have signed 2 of the dirtiest players in the league in Norman and D.J.
AJ Green REALLY whipped his ass last season.
Can't believe I didn't notice when that happened but it looks like he's still trying to take Beckham's head off there. The guy is such a clown, that whiff couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

Initially, it's difficult to hear him. As his daughter squirms on his lap, Norman speaks so softly, so quietly. Lean forward, listen up, and each word cuts like a knife. It's as if his mind and voice are racing, each thought hurdling over the next. Norman views the cornerback position in the NFL as mano-a-mano mental and physical warfare. And in that process, he slows the game down to the millisecond...then attacks.
Could not agree more. What a douche-chill inducing read.
He's gotten much better at controlling himself, but he has made some bonehead decisions when all the cameras are on him. I actually read that quote and it's almost a compliment of Beckham. He's basically saying he's a better dude than the guy who makes those mistakes.
Captain Munnerlyn.
Al Alburquerque?
Hasn't he been promoted to major yet?

Oh yeah. It's Majir Murline now.
He gets stopped by TSA all the time now though.
In the second game, despite sitting out most of the second half (per Eric in his game review), Odell had 5 catches for 44 yards (with a long catch of 15 yards). Norman had 4 tackles and 1 assist. I should also note that Norman picked up AT LEAST two personal foul calls in this game as well (it's hard to tell in the video who the flag goes to because they cut it off in the video below before it's announced but you can see Norman going after Beckham after the whistle blows... again).
This guy's a clown and not nearly as good as he thinks he is. He's not a bad player... he's not even an average player... but he's not nearly as good as he (and it seems most of the media) thinks he is.
Not nearly as good as he thinks he is - ( New Window )
I wanted Odell to score on this play so damn bad.
He turned into a monster at that point - that was where you could see he had focused all of his energy on just beating Norman on the field. He just needs to continue to do that and this fucking clown will never have a shot against him.
Norman is going to have his hands full with Marshall too. Marsh is a big boy.
Pretty sure its their new safety Swearinger. He has a reputation as a hitter. But good luck. Plenty of safeties have tried to line up Beckham for the big one. Thing is, if they miss, its 6. Who was it last year who tried to flatten ODB in the end zone after he made the catch, got two feet down and Beckham spun away from the hit?
He didn't take the bait last year.
Captain Munnerlyn.
Al Alburquerque?
I did put "(SP?)" in there....lol
2) The last posted comment deserves some attention from the league though. He is basically saying he will play dirty and the officials that do a Giants-Skins game should be on alert. they need to flag him early and often if he pulls anything. Had officials called the game properly against Carolina, OBJ never snaps. Why? Because Norman would have been flagged on the first play and that probably would have been the end of it.
3) He is just begging for attention, so don't give it to him.
Pretty much.
He knows that OBJ was slowly tuning him out (especially in the 2nd game against the Redskins) last season. He also knows that, physically, he can't do much against OBJ, so he's planting a seed for the regular season to bait Odell into a repeat of the Panthers game. This is another version of bringing bats to the field. He's purposefully hinting at dirty play to throw Odell off ahead of time.

Maybe Steve Smith has just broken a lot of jaws.
