Regardless of your political leanings or your opinions about the selection, you have to admit it simply wasn't a wise choice. They had to know there would be a lot of push back and ramifications.

I grew up on the east side, going to school north of 86th street but living south of there. 86th was where the parade turned and ended.
It was the only day of the year that my mother would give me specific instructions about getting home, going with my brothers etc. Because it was such a shit show.
