NFT: Knicks nostalgia - 2000 game 7 win @Miami

Sean : 5/28/2017 10:13 am
I found this gem on YouTube. Such a satisfying win. It's funny, non NYK fans talk about these series like it was awful NBA. I'm obviously biased, but I prefer this brand of basketball so much better. Fight & battle for every possession, absolutely nothing is given. What a rivalry this was. Let's be honest, the NBC production of the NBA was miles better than what we have currently.

I've always been bitter towards Riley for how he left, but unfortunately, knowing what we know now, he made a brilliant decision.

the last hurrah for that Knicks group

I'm nostalgic for that era because the Knicks were good but the basketball was brutal. In this series, a team broke 90 points once. Two games with both teams in the 70's. Doubt I would have found it watchable except for "my" team being in it.
i enjoyed

the ninty win knick teams, maybe im nuts. They used to half tackle a guy if he drove the lane, intimidators.

part ownership and control over personnel. Now we have one of (maybe the worst) owners in sports & have gone through a million GM's.

Riley should have been given 1000% what he asked.
I hope North Korea

Fires a salvo right into Dolan's face.
It's sad

I was as big a Knick fan in the 90s as anyone. I died when we couldn't finish off Houston in 94. Died more when Ewing missed that layup in game 7 the next year. Then lose to the Bulls in 96. Get screwed by Stern by getting half our team suspended in 97 vs Miami. Got killed by Miller in 98. Then, we get to the finals in 99 but Ewing gets hurt and we have no big man answer for Young Duncan and vet Robinson.

Now every Knick year, it's like here's another shit year. At least, back in the 90s we knocked on the door to a championship. Now, I'm not even sure we're in the right town where the building is to find the damn door to knock on.

It won't get better until ownership changes. We are all held hostage by Dolan at this point.

screw job was the worst, i remember dominating heat, with a hot houston scoring to the rim and from the outside. Miami couldnt contain him. I really thought we had a shot. So long ago, was this really actually the scenario?

One of my teams that have had a few coaches quit. Pitino, Riley and Van Gundy. Odd.
On the series immediately before Houston's shot

A hobbled Ewing had a huge defensive stop on Mourning to give Houston the shot to win.
I guess that was the year before though
