draft, what round do you think he'd be drafted in?
Undrafted.

Isn't he like 40 years old?
Why ask such a question

Far, far better question than is Eli done or will OBJ's absence during OTAs affect team chemistry or his regular season performance..😎

Your first example is correct. Your second? Not so much.
The way the game has changed
Giantsfan79 : 6/12/2017 7:54 am : link
I'd say 4th rounder. That kid we drafted from BC a few ago is a comp, didn't he pound for a ton of yards in college but was too slow, couldn't catch, and didn't pass block well enough for the nfl? because that's my memory of daybe,
This thread is like....

a reminder about the time when you got kicked in the balls by a mule.

Why would you want to relive something like that?

2nd rd. And for all his faults, the one thing Dayne could always do was pass block.
Dayne was a great pick.

He was a reality check for Tiki, and Tikis career took off after that.
Derek Brown. oof.
Klaatu : 6/12/2017 9:04 am : link
I thought he was the second-coming of Mark Bavaro.
oops. wrong thread.
Klaatu : 6/12/2017 9:06 am : link
...
IMO he's be in the 2nd or 3rd round
PatersonPlank : 6/12/2017 9:32 am : link
He'd still be a top RB coming out because of his stats at a major RB University like Wisky. However I think RB's have been downgraded in the recent years, hence the drop out of Rd 1. Look the guy had a great college career. He would still be coveted in this draft. His skills however never translated into the NFL, many players don't.
You guys are
Doomster : 6/12/2017 9:38 am : link
prejudiced because you know how he played, already, in the NFL....

But the Giants should have seen that he was a product of that Wisconsin OL...

annexOPR : 6/12/2017 9:56 am : link
I was randomly thinking about how excited I was when he was selected ...

now a "power back" in this day and age? 3rd round, maybe 2nd
his "skills"
annexOPR : 6/12/2017 9:58 am : link
were mostly running against smaller defenders through gaping holes, but hindsight is 20/20

still wear the Dayne jersey to games ... usually in bad weather/when the giants are having a 4-12 type season
Should have been Shaun Alexander

That's a very expensive motivation ploy to burn a 1st on Dayne, but I agree. Tiki blew up the year Dayne was drafted. Probably not by coincidence.

You're kidding right? My ass would get drafted before Dayne would. Second round? No. Try the 6th.
Wait you mean if the 2000 draft was done again
djm : 6/12/2017 7:39 pm : link
He'd mistakenly get drafted in round 2-3 like njm said. I thought the op meant if we knew what dayne would become.

Different eras so he'd probably fall to round 2-3. But you never know someone might have taken him earlier.
I would like to think player evaluation has progressed
Ten Ton Hammer : 6/12/2017 7:41 pm : link
and teams would see that Dayne was a product of an amazing college offensive line.

But then there's Trent Richardson getting drafted 3rd overall in 2012.
4th or 5th round
Torrag : 6/12/2017 9:33 pm : link
Scouting places greater emphasis today on explosion and agility testing, ie 10 yard split, 3 cone, broad jump, vertical. Dayne would fare badly in all those areas.

It's the offseason and this is a Giants board.

Honestly, your question is much more pointless.
