Adam Bisnowaty One of my Favorites

Elite Mobster #32 : 6/12/2017 4:34 pm
Looked at some film of Bisnowaty at Pitt. He plays Tough and with a mean streak. He can play Guard or Tackle. 6-6 310 lbs. Comes off the ball and blocks downhill. He is very likeable and Humble.

As many of you are aware I like Linemen to wear the Traditional Old School facemask. There is still no overwhelming statistical reason why Running backs and Lineman stopped wearing the single bar facemask. I wore it as a Runner,as well as my colleagues back in the day.

Earl Campbell, Thurman Thomas were productive with the Cage. You can see the field better. Actually the Wide Receiver wear more protection around eyes now.
Again, the easy solution is a visor too.

I have only heard infrequent incidents of eye injury. In this era that can easily be fixed with the additional visor, the players are wearing now. As for seeing the field It's the Best! I Hope BIZ sticks to his guns and stays with his heart. Wearing a visor is most practical. Bring It back BIZ !

Looks like a re-write of your Eric Hermann thread from a few years ago....
At this point last year
Jay on the Island : 6/12/2017 4:43 pm : link
He was discussed as a possible 1st rounder. I hope the reason for his fall was injury related because from the highlight video's of him I saw a guy who struggles with speed rushers. The Giants have used him at RT and it will be interesting to see how he does when the pads go on. The 2nd sting OL is going to be extremely exciting with Wheeler at LT Gettis LG Jones C Fluker RG and Bisnowaty at RT. Hopefully Dunker will beat out Gettis as the 2nd string LG adding more excitement to the line.

Ugh Herman. I became excited by Herman when people starting throwing around comparisons to Rich Seubert who is one of my all-time favorite Giants.

Mosely, McCants, Herman.. feels like an endless list of OL that haven't quite panned out for us. Our luck is bound to turn at some point, right?

I have it on good authority that NYG has the nosebar mask and that it's ready for Bisnowaty. Keep an eye out and let's see.

Ah yes, Brewer ....
Manny in CA : 6/12/2017 6:55 pm : link

He has the all-time best complete name in the history of the NFL - James Da'One Brewer.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't he the designated tidy-bear holder at the Super Bowl, last time the Giants were there ?

As far as "Biz", hard not to root for somebody that plays with as much heart as he.
Humble?
Vanzetti : 6/12/2017 7:20 pm : link
I don't know if I would say Bisno is humble. He talks about being nasty and making the guy in front of him want to quit football

I like the attitude but not sure it is humility
I never saw anything like Brewer
grizz299 : 6/12/2017 7:32 pm : link
My sense of it was he wanted to avoid contact. I swear he'd step out of the way of a DE and then turn and follow him to the Quarterback - maybe to serve as a witness.

I was confused at GT's original meaning, was about to answer his question with "for emphasis?" Then I saw the "Traditiinal Old School facemask" inthe original post and was also SLIGHTLY (thats what I meant when I said "for emphasis") annoyed.

and the obligatory NYP headline: Nobody Beats the Bis.
Petrus, Brewer, Mosley, McCants and Herman were all Day 3 picks.
Big Blue Blogger : 6/13/2017 1:58 am : link
While an 0-for-5 streak on late-round offensive linemen is disappointing, it's pretty close to what you would expect, statistically. In each of those five cases, the Giants saw something to build on: Petrus and Herman had ox-like strength at guard. The other three had the feet and/or wingspan of an NFL tackle. It didn't work out, and the depth on the Giants' offensive line suffered. That's life.

Bobby Hart has already beaten the odds for a seventh-round pick, even if he doesn't win the job at RT. If either he or Bisnowaty becomes a credible starter, it's a huge win relative to the resources invested in them.

Wasn't Petrus good? Whatever happened to him? He just lost the will to play, or something like that?

I don't remember Petrus being good. Only thing I remember about him was that time he spoke in tongues on the sideline to I believe Bradshaw after some big play.

Bisnowaty could end up just like those scrubs but he has a much better resume coming into the league.

What about "Running back?" With a capitalized R but a lowercase B?

Guys are drafted in the 6th round, because they are 6th round talent....trouble with speed rushers? Back problems?

And we traded up for him? Only time will tell, if he is better than our current 7th rounder...

Hart was garbage last year, he gets ZERO push in the run game and is slow as molasses pass blocking.

He got so thoroughly destroyed by Brandon Graham last year we had to put Newhouse back in.

And now, Hart is plan A again. It's pretty crazy: this crap OLine could derail an otherwise Super Bowl-quality football team.
RE: Petrus
area junc : 6/14/2017 12:00 pm : link
I remember Chris Snee making a comment around the time Petrus flopped that the league was full of big, strong, tough, athletic guys who just can't get the technique down consistently, and wash out.

Petrus had all the tools. Just couldn't learn.

it's always frustrating to see a guy as massive as Hart somehow suck at run blocking, but it looks like he's put in the work this summer and is still very young. we shall see.

I wouldn't be surprised if Biz is starting RT week 1.

I want Flowers Pugh Richburg Fluker Biz

he really showed poorly last year. I can't imagine him taking that much of a leap that he'd suddenly be a good player. Obviously I hope I'm wrong but that is my evaluation. He has physical limitations that don't go away.

Agreed 100%. That's the OL that potentially gives our O a chance to function. When the other team has both S's 25 yards deep and the LBs stacked we need to be able to run the football or we're dead in the water.

Bisnowaty isn't a Special Needs player, he'll be ahead of the curve.

I'm a little concerned because I heard one time he went to his friend's uncle's Buddhist temple, and that just screams to me that he's a soft player.

Without going into details (that I don't have), the coaches will be wary of using the stick method to motivate a possible pacifist. Let's just say there's something in his makeup that is off. Again - I can't go into details. If he and Fluker are manning a side of the line and both have special needs, it could be disasterous. We could be on the short bus to a long season....
