Messed up the quote...

sorry about that. No link - it's in the Twitter feed.

Hope all is okay with him. I know a lot of people say "who cares, on the roster bubble, etc." but he's a real person who obviously must be dealing with something serious. I wonder if Brandon Marshall could help him (no idea what the issue is).
That sucks. Hope he's ok.

Seemed like a classy and hardworking kid when drafted. Didn't see this coming.

Hope he sorts out whatever is going on in his life.

Football is second to that.
If there's a Giant who figured to need space to fight private demons..

...Odighizuwa might have been at the top of the list. I wonder if the situation with his father was a factor in his draft drop, along with the obvious concern about his surgically-repaired hips.

At this point, we don't even know whether his current problems are related to what happened fifteen years go; but it's hard to imagine those dots not connecting somehow. In any case, I hope he pulls through - whether he ever returns to the field or not.
Best wishes

to Owa and his family. Has to be serious for it to interfere with the dream of playing in the NFL.
I hope he' gtting the help he needs but...

...after how things played out at DE, inking JPP and Taylor, Okwara's play, re-signing Wynn, drafting Avery and Vernon's presence he was a long shot to even make this team out of camp imo.
This young man

has overcome so much to be in the NFL as it is. His family situation is unenviable to say the least. Unfortunately, there has been some speculation that he is going through mental health concerns. Wish him all the best regardless of his career with the Giants.
he must really

Fair point, though I doubt Wynn is a major factor. His salary is nearly 3X Odighizuwa's, he can be cut with no dead money, and he doesn't offer much upside or pass-rush. Moss is probably a year away from being a significant contributor. Between injuries and uncertainty about what Okwara really brings to the table, there's likely to be room for Odighizuwa if he brings his "A" game to camp - assuming he actually has an "A" game.
'assuming he actually has an "A" game'...

...that's how I look at it. As to Wynn he's outplayed O2 since he was drafted and he's been just ok.
Get the help he needs and hopefully be well enough

to return when it begins to matter near the end of July
Hope he gets better

but I don't think he'd a loss at all as a player.
That's kind of ominous

Even injured guys are supposed to be there, right? As fans, we can hope for the best, but it's probably time to start mentally moving on from the idea of him contributing.
no big deal

he is a young guy. How many days of work did we miss at his age because we were hung over or depressed about our GF dumping us?

It happens. Nothing to see here.

Not to make light of your trauma, but I doubt your experience compares to Odighizuwa's, unless your girlfriend also murdered three people in cold blood after repeatedly beating you and the rest of your family.
I hope he files retirement papers or is put on NFI for the year

It won't cost the Giants any money and he can hopefully resume his career with the team in 2018 (if and when he overcomes whatever personal issues he is struggling with). His chances of making the 53 man roster this year are pretty close to slim and none, so there's nothing to be gained from him showing up for training camp. It would just force the Giants to release him in September and lose his rights.
