Odell Beckham Jr. let his cleats do the talking Tuesday at his first Giants practice since he skipped OTAs, giving a nod to several media outlets — including ESPN, TMZ& #8203;, the Wall Street Journal& #8203; and The Post — with a pair of new Nikes that featured their logos & #8203;with “SHHHHH!!!”& #8203; superimposed.& #8203; |
Manzeil is attempting a comeback and worked out with the same trainer and group of players as OBJ for a little while
According to some in the media (and some of our dumber posters here) OBJ should have walked off the field and stopped training the moment Manziel arrived, in order to avoid any appearance of impropriety
His feet are too small.
Its stuff like this that got him the Nike deal. I don't think Beckham is shooting from the hip, its calculated. He's set for life due to his social media presence, not just his performance.

I'm not saying it's wrong or bad, just pointing out the wildly contrasting media presence of two guys whose careers, at least for the moment are connected and somewhat dependent on each other. I just find it interesting. I also readily admit that I'm far, far out of touch with social media and its intersection with modern celebrity. That I find incredibly uninteresting and pretty annoying. What can I say, I'm gonna make a great middle aged white guy in a few years.
He doesn't want the outlets on these cleats to actually shhhhh!; he wants to stir them up into covering him even more.
Sure everyone appreciates the shut up and work "lunch pail" type of player. But just because Odell likes the shine doesn't mean he's a problem child.
He'll always be him and some will appreciate it and some will roll their eyes. I, for one, don't give a flying rats ass whether he talks or not, as long as he catches footballs and scores touchdowns.
And when your son or daughter is dancing around the yard wearing his jersey, it's because the Giants allow him to play this game because he's earned the right to do so....And he happens to be one of the best at it.
The rest is just noise.
Tons of athletes do. Again, he's getting paid for all of this, something that's usually glossed over by detractors.
He certainly does.
Does the Giants' elite defense have some ground to make up after giving up 38 points during that disappointing end to last season, or just the immature guy who dropped a pass? Just checking... (Looked for that thread but couldn't find it. Maybe you should start one.)

Atta boy, call me out when I'm not participating. Gutless idiot.
Oh come on it was kinda funny Joey.

why would he draw attention to his sneakers? I swear, OBJ brings out the dumbest reactions from some decent posters.
He certainly does.
Yep, you're the poster boy.
Very true, though hardly on point.
