Hey guys, it's that time of year...auto-renewal is starting.... I called in and got the ticket max for 99 bucks. I always ask for the retention dept.... they can make it happen. Cheers
Free NFL ticket Max, another 20 bucks off a month for 12 months, they gave me a "long time customer" discount of 50 bucks for the next 6 months, free equipment upgrade. Only catch was getting into a one year contract. Works perfect b/c my contract will now be up every July, just around the time to bargain for deals.

Did you have to go thru retention?
Yup, the first person who answered (regular customer service agent) only offered 5 bucks off every month. When I said no she connected me to retention.
I think the key is to establish you are calling to cxl your service and as long as your contract is up, you should have plenty of leverage. I was told by a friend who worked for them a few years back that every retention agent has a quota of how much they can offer. So if you don't get an offer of your liking, tell them you're gonna think about it and call back. Hopefully the next time you call you'll get someone who can offer more. Good luck.
I'm not a DirecTV subscriber, nor do I have any cable package. As a cord cutter do I have options to buy a package that will allow me to watch all games, as well as Red Zone?

My understanding is they will offer you the NFL max (includes Red Zone) for free to all new customers. You'll have to commit to a one yr contract, but you can subscribe to the minimal package and only pay like around 20 bucks.
THIS YEAR IT IS ON!!!!
Seems hard to get a hook up.
