has only two ways in which he could win the fight.
1) Mayweather doesn't train at all or take MacGregor seriously during the fight-- this seems unrealistic as Mayweather has spent way too much time trying to protect his legacy and his undefeated streak. If this is the case, then the fight isn't worth watching anyway.
2) During the fight, MacGregor throws Mayweather off-guard by pretending to throw kicks, or making quick-twitch motions with his legs suggesting he may throw a kick.
Mayweather has programmed himself all his life to defend against boxers throwing different kinds of punching combinations-- he is perhaps the best all-time at defensive boxing. However, he has no practice or programming against a guy who throws kicks. It's not that MacGregor will throw a kick-- but perhaps MacGregor pretending to throw a kick throws Mayweather off-guard for just a moment because he isn't used to seeing it and so his natural instincts are to put his hands down or something to block from this type of attack he isn't used to. Perhaps in that moment, MacGregor can then come in with a knockout punch.
If this happens, I would still consider the fight a sham as MacGregor would only have won by pretending to try and cheat.
If Mayweather were smart, there would be a clause in the contract not only for if MacGregor uses non-boxing moves, but if he threatens or attempts to do so as well.

Interesting - I can see Connor doing whatever it takes to give him an edge - wouldn't rule that out, unless it's not a legal 'move.'
floating around out there featuring McGregor sparring with a total no-name ham n egger - the guy is ranked in the stratosphere. It ain't pretty for McGregor as he's getting hit easily and missing a ton. He looks completely amateurish.
If this is a straight boxing match Mayweather will embarrass him. The guy is one of the best in the history of the sport. But I suspect that this will be more of a spectacle than an actual competitive bout.

Exactly what I'd be concerned with if I paid for the fight.
old? Wouldn't be likely be better after months of hardcore training?
Yeah, i think it might be from last year. Regardless, he's not going to improve to the point that he's giving Mayweather a challenge. This will be a clownshow. But both parties will play it up in the ring WWE style I'm sure.
You'll be able to watch all 65 seconds of the actual fight on YouTube the next day...so probably yes.
Look at you all, sitting on your cloud of judgement, handing down life lessons...
I'm not going to drop money on this fight. I haven't bought a boxing or mma ppv in a long time but i don't think everyone who does is stupid either.
And you seem to misunderstand my post and want to pretend some moral superiority. I don't look down on anyone buying WWE PPVs. If hey enjoy it cool. It's their cash. What I don't want to hear is that this is some legit boxing match. Conor has to relearn his footwork and striking in about 3 months. MMA boxing and pro boxing are hugely different.
And since Floyd is a counter puncher and so his Conor expecting to see some awesome boxing match strains cedulity. Period. So. To be clear. As long as you k ow this is a hype job and u are cool w that fine.
But this isn't Hear s Hagler. Ali Frazier. It's one of the best at all times vs a virtual amateur. On of that takes away from McGregor's MMA career that is suspect enough if you are an honest MMA fan. If he w Dr fights Khabib or Ferguson get back to me. He's smart. Why fight those monsters for 10 million when he will make 25 minimum for this probably. But again he's smart. This is a fight he's got no shot of getting hurt in for 2-4 times the cash.
Good for him smart. Great fight Very very unlikely. . .
Maybe not the full 100-150, but I'll happily throw some money to a buddy at a watch party or pay the bar cover. This is coming from a guy that doesn't think it will be much of a fight (only -600 Mayweather right now if you like free money). However, it will be an event that the whole world will be talking about and if you think there's a 1% shot of McGregor landing a knockout, that makes this a must watch in my eyes for any sports fan. If you miss what would be one of the biggest moments in sports history live, you'll be kicking yourself the next day. Like I said, longest of longshots, it will most likely be a snoozefest...but that's an exciting longshot.
Nobody has said a word about mainstream boxing in 2 years. Now it's the only thing people will be talking about. Especially since it's happening before football season.
Of course it's a hype fight. But it's got people talking, people excited and I'll be watching. I'm a fan of both sports and if Conor somehow hits a magic punch and does the unthinkable... I wanna be watching live just in case.

I didnt say it was a legit boxing matchup or come close to comparing it to Ali/Frazier.
You did say anyone who buys it is stupid. I don't pretend moral superiority, i do disagree with that statement.

I'd bet that has to be true
In light of this, I would be remiss in not to formally inviting you to my house to gamble.
