Davis Webb is one smart and mature guy. He seems to really get it and seems to love Football. I truly hope he develops into the Franchise QB. I know you can only take so much from OTAs, but he seems to be on the right track. His interview is a must watch.

Agreed. Some here don't seem to think the way a QB handles himself matters, but it does.... with his teammates, press, etc.
...who really has a long way to go in terms of footwork, mechanics, and experience in a west coast offense. I don't think it's ideal for any rookie QB to be a starter regardless of what system they played in college. And that's as true for the rookies who have good first year as it is for those who struggle. There is a long history of young QBs who had splashy rookie seasons only to follow it up with lousy careers (from Rick Mirer to RG3). Meanwhile you have two of the best in our era, Rodgers and Rivers, who spent their first couple seasons as backups and excelled once they were handed the starting job.
Patience is a virtue when it comes to a young QB and that patience applies not just to putting up with mistakes he makes behind center, but the patience to leave him on the bench until he is most ready.

He was a very poor player here for his first two summers and regular-season practices. Fortunately for him, and he knows that down deep, he didn’t have to play early. His delivery was a mess, bad body language, he didn’t know how to deal with teammates.
