It went pretty well in the sense that I was able to be articulate and answer all of his questions.
Here is my mindset..
Usually when its over I get one of 2 feelings:
1) I nailed it.. made that interview my bitch... then only to find out that I didn't get it.
2) I completely bombed and there is no way I will ever get another opportunity again. Then I get offered the job.
Here is the weird thing.. I didn't feel either way this time.. more like Meh.. I saw times where I was on and I noticed other times when I was not.
The one thing that rings kiss of death to me is that at the end of the interview we had some small talk about the logistics of the transition since I would have to move... He then stated that I had VERY impressive credentials.. he stressed very. He also asked me if my current boss was ok with me possibly leaving and I told him that he understands.
That credential thing is the kiss of death to me.. I am not getting it after that statement.
He also said he was down to 4 candidates.
I sent him a Thank you and then he sent me a separate one after I sent him one thanking me..
what do you guys think? Am I reading too much into it?
My gut says no offer...
And you said your current boss knows about you potentially leaving, can only be a good thing
Asking if your boss knew is a good sign. Doesn't sound like a sure thing but I'd say you've got a good shot.
dont drive yourself crazy. the thing that you have to remember is there isnt necessarily one winner who gets the offer and the rest are the losers who didnt. 3 guys or gals could knock it out of the park, theres still only 1 offer to give. youll be fine either way.
I tend to drive myself crazy with over analyzing stuff like this.
I guess if it is meant to be it will play out like that.
