Continuing our Rising Stars features, our staff has identified a rising star who joined the ranks of the Virginia Tech Hokies in 2015, strong-side linebacker Tremaine Edmunds. Tech fans are quite familiar with the name, as he recorded 106 tackles and tied the school season-record with a combined 18.5 stops behind the line of scrimmage last year. It is also the school where older brother, Trey, played for, and another brother, Terrell, is one of the top safeties in college football and a teammate. Further links to their football pedigree was their father, Ferrell, who was an All-Pro tight end for Miami and Seattle during his seven-year NFL career. Below is a detailed scouting report on a player we feel will be one of the first – if not the first – linebackers selected, if the junior opts to enter the 2018 NFL Draft. It is a move he will have to closely examine, especially after the ill-fated decisions made by Isaiah Ford, Jerod Evans and Bucky Hodges. All three underclassmen, were in for a rude awakening during 2017 draft proceedings. Below is a link to his scouting report, so join up for The NFL Draft Report to get my regular features;

This week-a look at a MLB that we identified as the rising star-Ohio State's Chris Worley & a Brandon Marshall WR clone-Pitt's Jester Weah
West Virginia's Justin Crawford is a LeSean McCoy type, USC's Ronald Jones should go Round two & I actually like LSU's Derek Guice better than Fournette. Biggest bust? Of course, a Tide guy - Bo Scarborough - can't get over minor injuries & a Carlos Mensina dee-dee-dee type, if you catch the drift.
