I am taking my wife to Paris in Sept. I have convinced her to go on a tour of Normanady. I would like a good book that is a good read (not just jargon) about D day to help prepare my self for the experience.
What are your suggestions?
Thanks in advance..
Overlord by Max Hastings is also another option.

What is the name of Marin Gilmore's book?
Quote:
and Martin Gilmore, two of the best historians of all time, both have books on D-Day that are quite good. Gilbert's volume is shorter, probably less than 200 pages. There is a book called Double Cross which is a fun read about all the different D-Day deceptions but I forget the author.
