maybe Porzingis foot injury

was worse than is known, when these big guys start having foot issues it often leads to chronic problems.
I wouldn't trade KP for anyone in this draft

it's nuts to trade him.

Phil Jackson is entering George Costanza-like territory. Seems like he is trying to get fired at this point.

LOL, sad but true. Problem is no matter what the Knicks do they will sell out the Garden. The fans are speaking with there wallets and there saying we will pay whatever you want to charge us for tickets and we will buy them no matter what team you put out on the court.
Jackson is a joke.

No Michael,Scotty, Shaq and Kobe to save him this time. He's a clown and it's showing
Lowe
TyreeHelmet : 6/20/2017 1:55 pm : link
Zach Lowe hearing Knicks will talk KP but demands are very high. If Begley and Lowe are reporting it, than it's true. I guess Woj isn't "messing with Knicks fans".

I'd love to hear who they are talking to and what they are asking for. As for his foot, it was an Achilles injury not a foot issue. Big difference for a guy his size. I still can't believe the Knicks are having these talks. Why not build around him?

I wouldn't send two out of the three of Dlo, Ingram, and Randle. One at most along with Clarkson and picks.

I don't know how I would sever ties with a franchise that connects 4 generations of my family. But if KP goes, even it it was for a so-called "great haul," I think I'd have to say enough is enough.

I could not ever root for another NBA team. I just don't know how I could continue to be kicked in the fucking balls and not do something, even if only symbolic for me, personally.

This just isn't any fun at all. In fact, it's just the opposite. I'm a Giants and Mets fan, too, so I can handle long spells of teams not winning. But this Knicks front office, I think might have me the angriest/most disappointed of any team at any time in my life.

I hope that's not true. They should be completely separate issues and moving Noah shouldn't restrict the return for KP.

Yeah, keep Noah out of this.
bceagle05 : 6/20/2017 2:08 pm : link
Don't compound that horrific mistake. And if Phil loves Jackson and Tatum so much, he needs to learn how to tank properly. It's sad seeing pictures of Knicks execs drooling over these top five picks at workouts, knowing they could've had one of them if they weren't so hell bent on trying to win 35 games.

If the Knicks were dumb enough to do this, Boston is the only realistic trade partner.

You act like Porzingas is a 1st team all NBA player

Kristaps and his family are acting like he's a 1st team All NBA player. Fans are so starved for anything positive that it's no surprise they're treating Kristaps like he just had KAT's season.

KNicks fans are not treating KP like he is as good as KAT. They are treating him like the untapped overflowing talent that he is. If you trade KP you're a fucking fool. That's all there is to it. He has HOF potential. He's already shown he can play. He can't even drink legally yet or maybe he can, but barely.

KP is the guy you don't trade. You cultivate and develop him into the monster he's supposed to be. The Knicks are a fucking abortion.

I don't even feel like that's a big enough return for KP. If a deal like that is a no-go, then pretty much anything I'd take for KP isn't gonna happen.

My god this can't be true. It just can't. I refuse to believe any of this other than Phil just exploring everything. Even that is stupid because you don't need to release this kind of shit so KP hears about.

I wouldn't do that trade for the Knicks. Booker is a scorer, great...what are we getting at 4? An unknown.

I hate the NBA more and more with every passing day. It's way too all or nothing with the KNicks stuck in the nothing zone for decades now. It won't end.

est1986 : 6/20/2017 2:31 pm : link
For Smart or Bradley and the number 3 or i try to pull off that deal with Phoenix for Booker and number 4. Knicks get one of those picks and they've got Ball, Jackson or Fox and another solid young player. But they probably wont get that, they definitely wont get anything better than that. Knicks need to trade him or keep him on ice for the next two to three years while they tank and build around him. KP is not even in his prime yet. I was pissed when the Knicks took him, I wanted him for my sorry ass Magic's. KP could still prove to be an athletic Dirk when its all said and done.

just enough to know whats going on with them (as the NBA turned me off back in late 90's but before a knick fan too).

My question is (after just seeing this titled thread) why would they trade someone that has promise to build around? Am i missing something..like a good, reasonable/sensible reason to trade him because of being in such a mess as they are? Maybe someone knowledgeable (knick fan/NBA fan) can give a reason that would be beneficial in long run to turn things around. From outside, this looks outlandish to do so.
but the pick does have different conditions
JonC : 6/20/2017 2:35 pm : link
in order to convey to Boston, is probably what Deej was getting at.

You are crazy.
You guys are confused
est1986 : 6/20/2017 2:36 pm : link
Phoneix is not giving up the 4th pick and Booker for KP. The way the Knicks fuck up you guys better be happy to get that instead you might just give him away to someone who is willing to take that awful Noah contract.
KP has shown enough ability
Ash_3 : 6/20/2017 2:36 pm : link
and promise to think that if he's developed well, then he could be one of the two best players on a title contender. How many of those are there?

And if you'd rather have four potential quarters for a potential dollar, what makes you think this franchise has any ability to make sure those quarters realize their full 25 cents?

win titles. Even the example everyone always points to (The Mavs) had... Dirk. If someone blows you away then you do it. But Jaylen Brown, Jae Crowder and a pick or 2 = no thank you.
For me
bigbluehoya : 6/20/2017 2:40 pm : link
The very minimum acceptable return is #3 plus BK 2018 unprotected. Even at that price, I'm only lukewarm on it. Not outraged, but not really happy.

Add in the extra Philly pick and I'm pretty happy.

Sure, many will say that's a ridiculous and unrealistic ask. If I'm Phil, I'm just fine being a ridiculous and unrealistic GM who's got a 22 year old KP in the fold.
further proof right here
djm : 6/20/2017 2:42 pm : link
that online message board fans overrate draft picks as much as humanly possible. It's uncanny really. Anywhere else and you don't see the same unbridled desire for draft picks, no matter the sport. But on BBI and other sites people go fucking bat shit crazy for them.

If you trade KP for two picks or one pick and a player not considered young and transcendent, you are absolutely fucking lost. KP is too good to be true. Only the fucking knicks....

Nope.
Yeah the two Brooklyn picks
bceagle05 : 6/20/2017 2:43 pm : link
have been my starting point during any debate we've had on here about trading KP - and there have been a few. I wouldn't do the Phoenix trade and I wouldn't blame them for balking either - it's not like they're any closer to a title than we are. They're still in stockpiling mode. Boston seems like the only real match. Maybe Philly. Perhaps the Lakers since they know Paul George is on his way, too.

I wouldn't trade KP for the simple reason that he's so unique and humble and grounded. Even just to be able to coach him up and tap into that game of his I wouldn't deal him. Even an almost selfish basketball POV would force me to keep KP.

Why are we even talking about this... ?

Because Phil opened the door. Is GS "entertaining" offers for Steph Curry? Heck no... and not only because the price would be ridiculously high. Because that sh!t is alienating and rubs everyone the wrong way.

Yeah, the price fro KP should be ridiculously high. But we also shouldn't be talking about this whatsoever.

But we are... because it's the Knicks and it's Phil.
