Now I'm seeing on twitter that the Knicks should include Noah's contract in a possible KP trade. Have people lost their mind? What's the purpose of dumping that contract if you're really rebuilding? Zero need for cap space and including him diminishes any return. Talk about compounding a mistake.
But any of this KP talk is such bullshit. Just when you thought this franchise couldn't get any worse.

FWIW, plugged-in source says to "disregard" buzz about Knicks trading Porzingis. They aren't shopping him, though they have taken calls.
That's exactly what the initial report said. People just went crazy with it.
I know we all love KP and Lonzo Ball is the draftee we love to hate -
mostly do to his father. But if trading KP could somehow bring us Lonzo Ball, I'd be a happy camper. KP is a very good player, but IMO Ball will be a star.
I'm not sure why anyone is surprised that Jackson would field offers
for KP....and especially when the asking price is said to be enormous. That's exactly what he should be doing; exploring all avenues to make the team better. I LOVE KP, but Jackson would be foolish not to explore every possibility within his power to better the team.
Now, I don't have the greatest faith in his decision-making in that regard, but that's a separate issue.

LOL, yeah.. so. Like I said about 5 hours ago. Jackson never actually suggested that they were actively shopping Porzingis.
But, as usual, all it takes is one bit of misconstrued info and about 5 minutes and everything will spiral completely out of control.

Sounds like Ball is the one guy Phil ISN'T interested in. We've been linked to Fultz, Jackson, Tatum, DSJ, Frank, Monk, Isaac and Markannen but never to Ball
The Markkanen workout legitimized the rumors a bit.
I'm sure it's just due diligence, but there's no way you're taking him with KP and Willy on the roster. Phil already said we're targeting guards. Anyway, back to Monk, Smith Jr., and Frank...

Even if you want to act nuts and entertain the idea of trading Porzingis, you really want Phil Jackson making that trade? In 3 years he's yet to make a good trade.
What's so frustrating is the right path is so clear for the Knicks. Take Monk or DSJ unless another guy drops. Trade the vets for whatever picks you can get- including Melo. If not waive Melo and move on. Keep the cap clean and get another top pick next year.
But you know the Knicks aren't taking that path. Sucks being a fan of this team.
and are trying to trade up. They should have shut KP down, and tanked like everyone else. Jackson is my favorite prospect in this draft. If they can make this happen, I'd be stoked. I don't see how though.
Phil has fielded calls for KP.. not actively shopping him, FWIW.

Sanity prevails in NY. I'm told Porzingis not being shopped. NYK being bombarded w/calls. Gotta listen. Only monster offer would get him

Question: if you were in Phil Jackson's shoes and Ms. Buss said that she would get back w/ u if u trade Porzingas to the lakers, would u?
If the Celtics would give us 3 of their better first round picks, one in each of the next 3 years, then I'd think about trading KP. I wouldn't do it for any combination of players.
If KP turns into Jackson/Fox, Porter/Ayton, and possibly Zion Williamson, I don't think you can turn that down.
It's not that I don't like KP's future, but he's but one player, someone who could be injury-prone, and someone who didn't take that gigantic step forward the way most of us were expecting.
Ford's mock and DraftExpress's seem to align until our pick.
Fultz, Ball, Tatum, Jackson and Fox probably go one through five. Where does Orlando go at six? Smith? Isaac? And where does Minny go if Isaac's off the board?

i thibk orlando goes smith in that scenario, minny if no isaac i think trades back with dallas and they take frank...
may be a fit at PG in the triangle offense, but I dont think the triangle is going to be here long term. Phil isnt long for this job, maybe 2-3 more years. Then the triangle goes bye bye and I dont think Monk can play point in another system.
I love his scoring ability but Inwould rather get Smith if both are available

So you're okay with shipping out a 21 year old 2nd year NBA player who has shown he can be an all start in the NBA and possibly a top 10 player/MVP candidate? It takes time to develop in the NBA. Remember when he was drafted most people thought he wouldn't contribute for 3 years.
You would move him for Jackson/Fox, who I really like, but enter the NBA with massive holes in their game with their inability to shoot. And also hope the 2 future 1st turn out to be high picks and you hope you hit on those players? That's a massive risk.
I really can't believe some Knicks fan. They hit a home run with Porzingis. Do you know how rare it is to find a 7'3 guy who is a elite rim protector and great shooter? If you ever hired a GM who knew what he was doing, the possibilities of building a team around him are endless. Build around him don't trade him for picks. He's 21 years old.
don't think I've experienced it with any other team. It's as if there's a euphoric result to even the most simple outcomes, as if the fact that they didn't royally fuck up something should be a reason to celebrate.

I still want DSJ, one can hope, but I'm almost resigned to hearing Walt stumbing over Frenchy's name next year.
That's my ideal pick at this point, really hoping he drops to us.
hooefully he was not joking about the team drafting him has orange in their color scheme

I have no issue with the knicks taking calls and that seems like all it was. If some team wanted to give you the moon then you might as well listen.
So Butler really wants to stay in CHI and George has told everyone that he is going to LA. Hopefully this helps the Melo market just a bit for us.
