still have enough draft money to sign a few of the reaches they took after round 10. With tons of college relievers taken in rounds 5-10, you'd hope so!
Glad we signed this kid. Sky is the limit from everything I've read.
Really comes down to who (if any) of Hutchinson, Labas, Eder, Van Eyk or McWilliams they can sign. The last 3 look like hard "no". Love the Vientos pick, Peterson could be a workhorse 3-4, Dibrell is interesting, Renteria is tiny and older but big arm. I give it a B- based on who I expect to sign.

If healthy, Cobb is more intriguing than most college Seniors. I also like that the Mets did target more signable players with potential on Day 3 rather than throwing away the last 20 picks on High School players who were not going to sign.
Nelson called Cobb's delivery the "worst" in the entire draft. Doesn't mean it can't work but that's not a good sign.
I have my own issues with Alex Nelson unrelated to Mets, but I think if the Mets can find a way to get some consistency with his delivery I think he can be effective in a reliever role
But how much confidence should we have in this regime's drafting.? Conforto is the only good pick we have and even he is something of a question mark. I know you really can't judge drafts until well down the line. But this is Sandys seventh year. Color me unimpressed
there watching the abject disaster also known as your NY Mets? Gsellman lit up like Wheeler was last night and Edgin is not major league level reliever, period! They just stink from top to bottom!
He wasn't a draft pick. Nobody knows how he will turn out and the fact that he is the best we can come up with after seven years points to how shitty Sandy has been. And don't get me wrong, I love Conforto and Tosario but when you realize Sandy gave up Tutner and Murphy, the overall record is not good. In fact, it is terrible. And I'm not saying Sandy should be fired blah blah. Just pointing out that he has been lousy the last two off seasons. Is it Zdepon being gone? Or is it Sather syndrome -- you do a great job with no money but you suck when they give you a big budget. Or is it something else? IDK. But this team sucks
How many mediocre GMs have we had in a row? Harazin, Phillips, Omarr and now A guy who thinks it is 1997.
Only decent GM was Joe Mac and he was fired for not returning Fred's call right away.
Like every other shitty organization, it starts at the top. No hope until the Wilponsis turn the operation over to someone young and who knows what the fuck they are for doing. Sandy and his hand picked manager of seven years Terry Zcollins--what a fucking joke
Instead of last night when it might have mattered.
Dumb fuck Collins can't leave too soon. And old man Alserson who kept him around for seven years--longer than Davey Johnson. How fucking insane is that?
but I expected him to get around 2 million. Great news for the Mets as they signed him for the same amount that the Braves signed their 3rd round prep pitcher Tarnok for.
I felt like the Mets likely did their due diligence, but until he signed I had doubts.
Is this over slot?
Glad we signed this kid. Sky is the limit from everything I've read.
We used to have a guy who did that for the Yankees. He gave up draft commentary, so now there really aren't handicappers.
About half a million over
Trey Cobb: $20,000
Cannon Chadwick: $10,000
Stephen Villines: $10,000
Expected to begin his career at SS

It's like Dash Winningham.
Sometimes I believe the Mets draft players based on their name. They do have some of the best minor league player names.
Victor Cruzado?

Indians have a kid named Sicnarf Loopstok. Beat that.

while awesome, Sicnarf is just not on par as a baseball name with Dash or Cannon.
Those are in the Nuke category.
Ted Williams
he is from MA, but come on, LOL.
