Admittedly, I am a Strome fan and hate that Cappy misused him and killed his confidence. I definitely expect to see him do well in EDM. That said, the Isles just brought in a RW to play alongside JT who has proven to score at the rate we'd hoped Strome would. Effectively replaced "potential" with "proven".

Duchene would be a nice get. Even Galchenyuk (still). Eberle could be a L2 RW in that scenario. I'm cool with that.
**BREAKING NHL NEWS**
Oilers tried to hold out for Dal Colle who Edmonton wanted badly #Isles rebuffed as he's possibly in another deal
If true, I like that Garth stuck to his guns. Chia Pet was over a barrel and had no leverage. Management, team, fans knew after the season ended Eberle was gone. I'd always heard it wasn't going to take an overpay to get him.
And Eberle couldn't have scared the Isles too much
With Kelly Buchberger to join the Isles coaching staff, word is that he and Eberle didn't always see eye to eye in EDM. Could be, that just like we've speculated for a while about Strome, that maybe this is a guy who could just use a change of scenery.

Do not post anything from incarcerated Bob. He is a known false asshat. He makes shit up as he goes.
Though it feels like EDM has been itching to get rid of Eberle for a while now... which is slightly suspicious.
Then again, Chiarelli dealt Hall who had an excellent year for NJD... so.
The Hall trade looked like a terrible deal at the time but Larsson actually had a great season and the trade ended up being better for Edmonton than expected.

I don't doubt it with a name/handle like that. Unfortunate choice when credibility is an asset (not that self-styled "insiders" like Gallof or Eklund are any better).

He is worse than any other. Somehow he has a following that actually believes him. He has been so wrong about Lebron, Melo, Zach Parise, etc. There was an article a couple of years ago proving what a fake he is. He allegedly works for a sports gambling site.

Yeah, Larsson absolutely played well for EDM and it wasn't nearly as bad as it seemed at first.
I guess my overall point was just that even though EDM seemed to be trying to get rid of him for a bit, he was still a really nice acquisition for NJD, which bodes fairly well for NYI.

Flames on lookout for top-4 D... believe they've looked into Hamonic, Methot, among others; also still trying to re-sign M. Stone.
Methot: I'll try again; last night I asked what the logic was in Sens' leaving Methot unprotected. I thought he was Sens' 2nd best d-man in series vs. NYR and Conf' Finals. I'd have in Blue in a heartbeat.
Now Flames said to be looking at him as a #2 D. What was Sens' logic? Just salary?
Other than the money, and even at that, seems like a shaky basis to expose your #2 D-man and the Robin to Karlsson's Batman. I guess they had to hope that Bobby Ryan was really the one grabbed. On the Silver Seven's site, you can find no good reasons he's gone, but you do find about half that loved Methot and the other half who said "meh".
But I did see this, so it looks like he may well stay in Vegas:

Amid talk VGK trying to trade Marc Methot, he has 10-team No Trade list and sense seems to be he'd rather stay in Vegas than alter his list.
LV picked Schlemko to flip him for a 5th round pick.
McPhee acted like the smartest person on the planet last night, but I don't get a lot of their decisions.
a 5th round NHL draft pick in three drafts from now is essentially giving the player away.
They selected way too many defenseman and had to clear some. Schlemko is a 6th or 7th defenseman on a good team and I am sure they were happy to get something for him. I thought Vegas did a great job with the lone exception being passing on Vatanen for a draft pick. I felt Vatanen could have been a core player for them for years or been flipped at the deadline for more than they received for passing on drafting him. Vegas will struggle mightily as all expansion teams do but they will have the benefit of letting their young players develop in the NHL.

They selected 13 defenseman and traded for 2 more. They didn't have to, they could have picked other players from SJ that either had value to them on the ice or more value in a trade.
Picking Schlemko and then giving him away is a head scratcher. I think he sucks, and so do 5th round picks generally.
It would be like an NFL franchise having an expansion draft taking a shitty player as their only player from a team and flipping the player for a 7th round draft pick.

As an Isles fan, this exciting and terrifying at the same time.
Hearing that the Devils are among the teams that have inquired with Montreal about Alex Galchenyuk...
I am happy with Galchenyuk as long as they don't give up The 1st overall pick, Zacha, or Hall. If they do agree to a trade I assume the Devils would be taking a big contract back along with Galchenyuk.
Hearing that Radulov's latest contract ask was six years at $7 M per season. No way Habs do that..
I've read as many as 15 teams inquired about Galchenyuk. If Bergevin was smart he'd be leaking more to create a bidding war (though seems like he or someone is leaking bits of info already)
but Eberle on the Islanders is a 60-pt per year player.
Strome is fighting for minutes if he even makes the roster.
don't sell MDC short yet.. first year as a pro and he looked good at the end of the season.
the last game I watched I got to concentrate on him because JHS was up. He got it.
but Eberle on the Islanders is a 60-pt per year player.
Strome is fighting for minutes if he even makes the roster.
Also Eberle is a winger. Strome has done better at C and we have more depth at C
Admittedly, I am a Strome fan and hate that Cappy misused him and killed his confidence. I definitely expect to see him do well in EDM.
