Wow what a pathetic showing by Pineda again. No offense again. About to have their first losing home stand before they go on a tough road trip. It real be real interesting to see where this team is out July 4th. If they lose today which is possible it will 10 out of 12 losses. It's safe to say this team has come back down to earth.
Absolutely. They build you up just to break you down.
Lol and Kay
They all messed that up BAD
I forgive them though. The team on the other hand?? Oh boy.
Judge DH hicks left the game

so someone complained to mod because it wasn't a football thread? have to be really anal
Yep, it's mostly the pitching, though. They are complete dogshit. Crazily enough, this team misses CC, too. He got injured at the absolute worst time, after he had been pitching really well for about 1.5 months straight. That injury has killed us/the rotation.
I'd move Sanchez at least ahead of Castro in the order. Gardner has been rather crappy for the past month.
No moral victories!!!! I don't want to hear how they came back. A loss is still a loss and they have now lost 10 out of 12 and had a lousy home stand. And Now go on a tough road trip and playing on the road has been a problem for them this year
And let's not forget, pinada was horrific.
The bullpen was really good though.
That's an overreaction. Why blame him and not Sanchez for running through a stop sign an inning earlier? Yes, Austin didn't move the runner over with a perfect pitch for it, but if that's a crime, 99.9% of baseball players will be guilty at some point. Why not blame either of the guys who came up after Austin and didn't even make contact?

Advance of Headley at first with no outs. Pathetic. He can't bunt either? And apparently he can't catch an easy line drive. What use is he? Might as well just kept Carter.

I already called Sanchez out for terrible baserunning earlier in the thread. So your point is moot.

It's not about acknowledging that a player made a mistake. You said, "The game was lost as soon as Austin didn't move the runner over", which is a bit much.
Instead of just saying that was a bad play by Austin, which it was, you went overboard. That play was no more devastating than Headley getting caught stealing down 3 runs, Sanchez ignoring a stop sign and making the final out of an inning at third (as the tying run), or the guys following Austin failing to make contact with the tying run in scoring position.
This game was lost for a lot of reasons, most specifically, Michael Pineda. Calling out that one specific play is unfair.
From your fingertips to Cashman's ears (eyes?).
The good news is that the Yankees have lots of budding talent on the farm. The bad news is that it's short on what they need and long on what they already have. So the answer to the Yankees pitching woes will not come directly from the farm, but it could come indirectly if the Yankees take an aggressive, but not reckless approach to exchanging future potential for established production. After all, the goal is to have the best talent in the Majors, not the best talent in the Minors.
In a previous thread in which I used Gerrit Cole as a hypothetical trade target, somebody commented, "Go big or go home," and I agree with that sentiment wholeheartedly. Cole may not be available in trade at any price, but he fits the profile of what I'm talking about. What the Yankees need is a true Ace. One who is entering his prime years, not at the end of them. If they can land one without including Gleyber or Chance in the deal, it will be worth whatever else they have to give up. But it can't be a poser, it has to be a true stopper, or they will just be spinning their wheels with more of the same (a guy who looks like an Ace for two or three starts and then looks like a JAG for two or three starts).
Cashman needs to do his due diligence, settle in on a target who may be just south of untouchable, and then be aggressive (but not reckless) about prying him away from the team that would hate to see him go. There are two general truths in life which apply here: money doesn't grow on trees and you get what you pay for.
Cashman needs to take his inspiration from Louie De Palma - ( New Window )
...the Yanks starting pitching.
I kept pinching myself about our front line starters. How long is the prosperity gonna last?
Well, we now know. Right up to the start of that disastrous west coast trip.
Need to open the bank for some real starting pitching.
While the Yanks MIGHT make a trade for a SP who can help them years into the future, it will NOT be about competing this year.
But Milton can't let go.

That's because with each game it becomes more and more apparent that the weakness at the top of their rotation is not going to go away by itself. And the reason my focus has been on Gerrit Cole has nothing to do with our recent marriage and more to do with the fact that his addition will help them for years into the future and not just this year.
p.s.--And last I checked the Yankees are still in first place despite this miserable losing streak, so why not think about what can be done to increase the odds on winning it all now instead of counting on later?

There he is. Mr. Ellipses. With the Bullshit as soon as it's a losing slide. Same thing in football season. It's like clockwork.
You never post unless the team fails. Fuck off.
Sure he's 27 but I'm good.
Like really good. Don't need him or want him.
