NFT: Finished Season 2 of The Leftovers ...

Beezer : 6/26/2017 1:48 pm
Started out really loving the series. Pretty well done. Season 1 was enjoyable. Season 2 started out the same ... the shift toward Miracle was interesting, but somehow started to lose its steam for me.

Without killing Season 3 with spoilers, for those of you who have seen all 3, how does Season 3 compare with 1 and 2? Worth getting into? I will probably eventually start it ... just feeling skeptical right now.

Most people had the opposite experience.

The general consensus for most people is that they had to labor through S1 for the first 3/4 or so but that they really loved S2 and thought it was incredible pretty much from start to finish.

I actually liked S1 more than most. S2 was the best of the 3, IMO.. but S3 was also really good.

I loved the entire series, personally. I could never have finished up S2 and then decided not to watch S3. It's only 8 eps. I think you kind of need to finish the series at this point. Otherwise, why even bother?
Why woudn't you just watch it yourself to find out?

You've made it this far. Finish it!
I could read anybody's ranking of seasons (or even episodes)

and wouldn't really be able to disagree.

I don't really have a favorite season, But I tend to favor the 2nd halves of each season.

Season 1 ep. 6-10
Season 2 ep. 5-10
Season 3 ep. 4-8

who didn't leave season 2 with their jaw dropped.

As for watching season 3, I don't get why you wouldn't. Season 3 is still awesome but so was season 2 so I don't know where that nets out from your perspective.
What I liked about the series is each season was different...

Same show, same principle but with a different pulse...

Loved it... season 3 was awesome!
lol Like I said, I will.

Just wanted to get a feel for what others have experienced.
Gotta keep going!

I enjoyed season 1 more than the general consensus. But I thought season 2 was something special, so it's interesting to see you had an opposite experience. Actually just re-watched 2 and it still held up I thought.

Only 8 episodes for season 3, I think it's worth it to keep going
I expected to open this thread reading about how

so I'm not the one to ask, but if you have to ask, I'd say skip it.
Quit being a bitch and love season 2.

Good timing, I just finished season 2 as well.

I absolutely love it. I can't believe it wasn't watched more. Some of those episodes are so emotionally charged that I feel tired when the episode is over

I guess I found it to be somewhat convoluted in the later stages (Season 2). And I realize you have to accept some things in such a storyline in order to have a chance to enjoy it, but it almost seemed too much.

I think that's why I enjoyed the first season a bit more. It seemed more realistic, more possible to me (once I accepted that 4 million people disappeared) lol. The possible piece being the way folks reacted and tried to live their lives and deal with it all.

I did find the episode where where the cop takes the little girl to the well VERY emotionally charged.

I'd just watched the craptastic movie "It Comes at Night" so I was comparing that film to the 55 minutes of that episode of The Leftovers and felt the writers of The Leftovers won that comparison, hands down.
