It's trades, free agency and coaching that have been the nightmares. The real test begins July 1.
Agreed. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. We have talented youth, we have assets moving forward, we only have 1 devastating contract. Things aren't as bad as they seemed.
RE: RE: Knicks have handled the draft and UDFA market pretty well recently.
2010: Landry Fields (4th in ROY. 1st team)
2011: Iman Shumpert (5th in ROY. 1st team)
2012: No One
2013: Tim Hardaway Jr (5th in ROY. 1st team)
2014: Langston Galloway (Didn't Place. 2nd team)
2015: Porzingis (2nd in ROY. 1st team)
2016: WHG (?? in ROY. 1st team)
NONE of those players have made it through a second contract w the team though. Only KP and WHG still on the roster.

And the thing is except for KP, none of those players were high draft picks so it's not like the Knicks were tanking, getting good picks, and thus were having players win these awards.
Fields and WHG were second rounders. Shumpert and THJ were mid-late first rounders. Galloway undrafted.
If they ever want to improve they need to handle the July free agent/trade frenzy as well as they've handled the draft in recent years. I haven't seen much of evidence of that happening, but we'll see what the next few weeks bring. Maybe the Knicks will be blackballed by agents, which will solve the problem for us.
summer league teams might look, but we (my son and I) were looking at the Knicks' summer roster ... thought maybe that group has a chance to win the summer. Which would be something?

Knicks havent resigned a draft pick since Charlie fucking Ward.
Wasn't that theory debunked years ago? Manu Ginobili is all heart, and that's just the first guy that comes to mind. Porzingis basically left his family to go play professionally in Spain when he was the ripe old age of 14! If anything it's the American players who are coddled.

Not so fun for Toronto. 20 mill 3 year deal. I think it would it have been better use of that money to rent helicopter and throw it out the widow mid air.

So true. I hope they do absolutely nothing this summer. I'd even settle for bringing melo back if it guaranteed me that the knicks wouldn't sign any long term big budget FAs. Usually I feel differently and say bulls the team up however possible but I'd rather they just go full tank and get one more premium pick. After that they can go all in on a big ticket vet FA in 2018.

Maybe Dolan can move the franchise to Europe and NY could get an expansion team.

Is this some kind of meme where you have a thing against European players for no apparent reason?

European players the Knicks have in a few years they could have a 40 win season.

I have a reason. European players are soft in both hockey and basketball. Great skills, no heart, and easily intimidated. No thanks.

But yeah, that's not good.

So it is meme. Thanks for confirming.

Half of BBI is convinced Rubio can vault the Knicks to greatness
