And the 3rd best receiver. One spot behind Ezekiel Elliot. Really? Call me a homer, but there is not a better player in this league outside of the great QBs better than Odell Beckham Jr.
At least Zeke is an outstanding talent.
Dak did a solid job for what they asked of him but anyone who thinks he'd even sniff the top 100 players on merit is high as a kite! He's a middle of the road QB and that's just the QB position!
Snacks not happy and he's had a chip on his shoulder his whole
But it accomplishes what it intended to do....create controversy to talk about it....
Gotta talk about something during this down period. Might as well be this, as lame as it is.
The female host of the 'Reaction' show said 902 (or somewhere around that number) players voted. Have no idea if that is half the active players in the league or not.
I think it was Eric Davis who said that only around half of the players actually participate.
Been hearing this narrative the last couple years that other players can't stand him, of think he's overrated - being placed 8th kinda contradicts that that sentiment.
Last year was OBJ's worse as a pro. Way too many dropped TD passes. I don't think he was a top 10 player in the whole league.
I won't argue that it wasn't his worst year because it was. I think that's because of how teams played us. No other superstar got keyed on as much as OBJ. He was the primary focus every single game. Teams took away the long ball, so he took the short passes to the house. He is 100% a top 10 player in the league, IMO.
When you factor in what OBJ had to deal with vs those other 2. I believe OBJ had the best season. The fact that it may have been his worst season is a testament to how good this kid is.
OBJ had literally zero help in the middle or on the outside
It's ridiculous to suggest that he's not in the top 10 because of drops. Yes, he dropped too many passes last year, but he also caught 101 balls and had over 500 YAC which no other WR can say. He had double digit TD's and was top 3 in the NFL in catches and yards. All while his offense around him was falling apart. All while defenses double teamed him every single play. All while Eli had to unload the ball in 1.5 seconds.
It's amazing that some people will only look at the negatives with this kid when his positives are other worldly.
but at the same time, the guy is getting Calvin Johnson treatment, especially in that Packers game. OBJ has to work MUCH harder than almost any other WR since he doesn't have the luxury of a decent weapon around him to take attention away, nor did the team have any semblance of a running attack until we got away from Jennings.
He dropped 2 TD's vs the Packers? I remember 1 and the other one was a first down that he dropped, not a TD. No?
Listen, regardless of all that. He does so much good that it's scary what this kids ceiling is. I don't understand why you are only focused on the negative. Even with a down year as far as drops, the positives skyrocket him into the upper echelon of NFL players. The kid was electric last year in a year when every team bracketed him and kept a guy over the top. It's absolutely amazing what he did last year considering the other factors.
Well, I dunno... an argument can definitely be made for both players. Being behind a guy who rushed for nearly 2,000 yards from scrimmage and 16 total TD's in his rookie years isn't entirely disrespectful.
You can't put a rookie who had one oustanding season
I looked, he dropped 6 PASSES on one site and 7 on another. Not TD's - passes. Since I can recall three of the drops being on short outs or slants early in games, the most TD's he could have dropped was 4.
By the way - I'm not sure where the myth happened that he dropped two TD's vs. the Packers. His first drop would've been a key 3rd down conversion inside the 20.
Completely incorrect memories using to take away from how good he has been.

Since OBJ can take every single catch to the house
He has a star on his chest. Don't you know that? That makes him special.
It doesn't mean much of anything though, anyway. Just off-season filler that the players who bother to vote clearly don't put that much effort into.
He's behind a good line. That line has taken hits, I predict that EE never even sniffs the top 10 ever again
? I live in Denver. Was this news not available to you? If so I apologize.
This.
Yeah. Maybe then he'll show up to OTAs, too. We can only hope.
Because he should be #1?

They sleep on all of us...free schmoke season. Cowboys fans probably hacked the voting system 🤷🏾♂️

That Odell managed to put up those stats, with the above taken into consideration, it's pretty unbelievable.
Now excuse me while I pause to imagine the stats with Bmarsh on the outside and Engram going up the seam....
that was my first impression as well

His teammates had nothing to do with the 5-6 TDs he dropped last season.

You can when it's a list for the 2016 season.
