NFT: Curved Computer Monitor - Yea or Nay?

Grey Pilgrim : 6/26/2017 9:45 pm
Hey,

My old DELL monitor of 17 years finally crapped out on me and I just purchased a curved Samsung HD monitor.

Not sure if I'm crazy about it. It might take some getting used to however.

Bought it from Best Buy and there's no restocking fee so I might return it.

What says BBI?

Yea or Nay?
depends on the specs

I mostly use it for surfing the net. Never to watch movies, but an occasional youtube or nfl.com video.

you paid a premium to get the curved version, I would return it based on what you're going to use it for.

The wide screen curved monitors seem to be great for gamers, but I don't think particularly useful for you to make it worth paying the premium
Thanks Mook

I tend to agree. And the curved screen makes me somewhat dizzy.

Anyone have any other advice? I think I am getting used to the curved screen.

Is it true that the curved monitors are mostly for gaming and video?

Any other opinions/advice?

TIA
go with multiple 27" monitors

just make sure you have the juice and the system to run them.
Really depends on what you do with your system

Based on what you describe it seems a waste of money.

I would get a nice 27" 1080p monitor for your needs. Should be drastically cheaper.

Curved, 4k, 1440p, 144 MHz refresh, 1ms response, etc are all more about gaming or some limited applications (video editing, etc.).

I run 2x 27" BenQ 1080p gaming monitors. Love the set up. Some day I will step up to 1440 and/or 144, but I don't see a huge appeal to curved monitors as you sit directly in front of and close to your computer, unlike a TV.
