Looking for a mattress/box spring does anyone have a Bob-O-Pedic? What about Casper Or Saavta or all these other online companies where you can return. Any help or guidance would be appreciated.
Thanks
I got a beauty rest 4 years ago for $600 in a queen
Before you select a mattress, first and foremost try out the mattress. They are an important factor in maintaining your health and fitness. A good mattress would ensure a sound sleep. Bear in mind that firm mattresses are not good for your back and pillow tops may not be the one you should opt for. Check for adjustable beds and enquire about comfort guarantees or trial periods before you purchase. Check the warranty, because it is an investment for a long time. I usually check with mattress store for suggestions before and find many useful blogs with them giving tips on how to select mattresses. mattress store kamloops - ( New Window )
We are in the market for a king. Wife wants one of those Casper foam beds that come in a box, but it gives me pause. Never slept on a foam bed before, little less one that came in a box.

If you have a West Elm store near you, they have the Casper mattress in store that you can try out. Wife and I checked it out several months ago and didn't like it. But I know some people do.
highly rated foam mattresses from good manufacturers there, and an unbeatable warranty. If you end up not liking it after a month, bring it back and the only thing you're out is time and gas money.
Is how opaque the experience is. You're buying this big rectangle full of "stuff"., but most companies don't tell you exactly what all the stuff is. Sure it's got springs, but what count and what wire guage? A high guage wire (thin) may feel great now, but it will start sagging before too long. And sure, it's got foam inside. But what kind of foam (polyfoam, memory foam, gel foam, latex foam, etc), and what densities are those foams? Generally you get half answers at best.
The site I linked below has the most in depth info on mattresses I've found. It's probably too much for many, but give it a look. Ultimately I tried out a regional mattress company recommended by them and got a fantastic mattress. Not cheap to be sure, but the best we've ever had thus far. And because I know how it's made and what of, I have a lot of confidence it will hold up.
Bear in mind that firm mattresses are not good for your back
Firmer mattresses are better for your back than softer mattresses because you aren't sinking in and becoming contorted during the night.
If you have chronic back pain, medium firm mattresses are considered the best, but erring on the side of firmness is better than not.

Sleeping on the wrong mattress can cause or worsen lower back pain. Lack of support from a mattress reinforces poor sleeping posture, strains muscles and does not help keep the spine in alignment, all of which contribute and add to lower back pain.

This is true. But firm doesn't have to mean hard. A good mattress is made of several layers. The thickest is usually the support layer, and this is what you want to be firm. But on top of that layer are additional comfort layers that are softer and provide cushioning.
You don't have to sleep on a rock to get good back support. In fact you need the top to conform to your body to keep your spine straight.
For my son we recently bought a Tuft and Needle. It is similar to Leesa, Casper, etc. but in the middle of that group price wise. It is the most comfortable mattress in the house.

Consumer Reports did a roundup of memory foam mattresses. Despite being the most expensive it was near the bottom of the rankings.
Of course everyone's different and some people love them

Not Tuft and Needle. We read Consumer Reports and customer reviews. It was rated very highly on both ends.

People still cite consumer reports? I thought they'd been debunked as paid shills, kind of an older generations yelp.

It's been an incredible mattress however I'm already looking to buy a new one in a year or two.
I will follow this thread as a starter.

lasts about three years, sags at the edges, and they trap heat.
When i researched mattresses that's what I found and even in sitting/laying on some in there store they seemed flimsy to me.
we bought a tempur-pedic but the cost is ridiculously more.
I've heard good things about bed-in-a box, but didn't check them out.

Paid off by whom? They're a non-profit with no advertising. You have some authoritative proof?
Seriously, you can google it yourself.
