however, if it was on in sept (maybe after walking dead as a prequel like saul to breaking bad), it would get awful reviews. it is just very lucky that nothing else is on tv. with that being said, i watch it.
there isn't much else to pick from this time of year but I agree that the season has been strong. I would say I enjoy it more than the original at this point.
enjoyed the show when they were on the boat it was a interesting new twist and I thought they could have made the show more unique if they used it to travel to different cities and locations and dealt with post apocalyptic piracy. However this season seems to be more interesting then the one in the villa and hotel.
but I think it has all been milked out on TV. This series is a huge reach and I would prefer that everyone gets eaten. The writing doesn't push for anything novel and i'm not excited to watch more of the same. They either break new ground thematically or i'm going to stop watching. There is a lot of good tv out there.
now that he's back, with his past in the Sombra Negra coming to the fore. At the ranch, Otto is the guy I keep looking for.
One thing I've noticed between TWD and FTWD, is that all the interesting characters are either outright evil, or have a complicated relationship with morality. Not all of the baddies are worth watching, but none of the "Good People" can keep my attention.

Both shows need someone funny who insists on wearing body armor and hides at the drop of a turd. Let's cover all the archetypes.
The return of Daniel has taken it up a notch, and the addition of Dayton Callie, who is just great, as Jeremiah Otto, has given the show new life. Really enjoying this season.
They definitely do struggle garnering emotion for the characters, but killing Travis at least makes it feel like any of them are on the chopping block, which does add an element of excitement that wasn't there before.
The show lacks a true villain, but they're doing some intriguing stuff with the crazy army dude from the ranch, but they need to do a better job stating his motivations. You can be crazy, but without a method to your madness, you're not interesting.
Unless there's been something written about the actor and writers confirming it. I know he got shot in the neck and fell out of a helicopter and nobody survives that in real life. Just felt a bit like a TV-false death, where the character re-appears at some point. And usually, major characters in (F)TWD convention get to come back one last time as zombies before they get put down.
So maybe we're just waiting on Zombie-Travis is show up down the line so Madison can knife him in the head.
As someone else said, the issue is that I really don't care about any of the characters.
