I need to make up for my winless season. Andrew Luck was going to be in the draft the following year, so I tanked on purpose.. was just trying to get a hold of a franchise QB. Jeez.

I'd like to do a small buy in if possible... 25 or something. I feel like if it's free, people will just lose interest which is what happened with our baseball league a few years back.

I think most of us have been around here long enough that we could do that without it being an issue.

Hey, in my defense... Schaub led the league in pass yards a year or two before that. So it sounds way worse in retrospect.

I'm pretty sure I was way ahead of the curve taking a WR first (Andre Johnson) before it got all trendy.. but of course he got hurt that year, so..

I also had the waiver pickup of the year when I nabbed Cruz. But unfortunately it didn't put any W's in the column.

I also think I drafted Blount after his impressive rookie campaign in TB and he was fairly disappointing in year two. So that also made matters worse.

If I remember correctly (and keep in mind my memory sucks), arc really didn't have a bad looking team at first. He just suffered a lot of injuries and guys not playing up to what was expected of them. Pretty much just had the worst luck I'd ever seen in a league before.

And yeah - my draft really wasn't THAT bad if you consider when it was. James Starks really emerged towards the end of 2010 through the GB SB run and looked like he could be a guy who followed up with a strong soph season, Blount was coming off a solid rookie year, Gore was a good pick at that time, Julio was a bargain, Andre was probably considered the best WR in football at the time.. AND I scooped Cruz in what turned out to be the breakout campaign we all remember.

Injuries and bad luck really killed me more than my own ineptitude.

Still. 0-13 seems nearly impossible and yet, I accomplished it!

Osi was actually Seth. I doubt he'll come back unless we expand the active kicker slots or allow the drafting of punters. So that's definitely an open spot.

you could make it even more of a challenge and spend all of your draft picks on retired kickers... then after the draft drop them all and pickup a roster full of free agents and see if you can win that way.

T-Bone is a waiver wire snake. Last year of the league (only year?) T-Bone had 57 moves. 2nd most was Cromartieskid21 with 27 and 3rd was Jon in NYC with 24.

Those three did come in the top 3 spots so maybe they're on to something.

dep and pete had the fewest moves with 7 each.

Pete did sneak into the playoffs, but with only 20 more points for than me and I came in 8th. one of the sometimes good sometimes bad things about h2h, there is a lot of luck in who you play week to week.

it's not just about having the best team since it's record based.

I've used excel/minitab to randomly select the draft order for new leagues in the past and it worked out well.

I believe Yahoo allows for a random draft order selection.

Just put in everyone's email in that and it autogenerates a draft order and emails it to the whole league.

But I thought if you relied on the system to generate a random draft order, it didn't do it until a few minutes prior to the draft.

I can go with the flow, but I always think it's fun to know your draft spot a few weeks ahead to start thinking about how things could play out for you.

You can randomize the order in Yahoo well before the draft - I've done it a bunch of times. You just need all of the teams signed up and the league "finalized" first, and then it will let you do it.

I put in the same system(I lowered the points for kickers a little). However, everything is open for discussion.

Can we make the Playoff Tiebreaker total points and not head to head? Total points is more indicative of who has the better team than who won a random matchup.

I think the missed kick points are way too punitive. Kickers are already annoying enough without having to worry about losing a game because your idiot kicker got liquored up and shanked an XP. Something like -1 for misses under 40/XPs should be more than sufficient.

The settings are for playoff tie breakers. Not getting to the playoffs(we can't control this), but ties in the playoffs. The 2 options are "Higher seed wins" or "Head to Head".

Regarding kickers, we can certainly discuss that once we get the draft and other small details squared away. Still waiting on a few guys to respond regarding the draft.

This actually reminded me about a BBI league that I was in a few years ago. Someone with the ID "Aaron Ross 31" (or something like that) was the commish. He was proposing trades and when nobody was accepting them, he used his commish override to switch the players on the teams. Never saw anything like it before. Eventually everyone just dropped every player on their rosters except for him and he actually picked up those top players, added them to his lineup and played against ghost teams all the way to the championship.

There was a guy that would rip people off on bbi too. He'd start a league like this, he'd collect and then he'd go MIA. I forget his name. I think it was Eric something. Last name started with a J. Wait.....
