Why is Choi
nygnyy274 : 7/8/2017 12:50 pm : link
Sitting after hitting home runs in back to back games wtf has Romine done to keep his bat in the lineup??
What are Choi's #s against lefties?
yatqb : 7/8/2017 12:54 pm : link
I'd guess that's it.
Hey but Headley's in there hitting 5th!

Lefty pitcher on the mound so the binder must sit him

Romine is batting .108 against lefty pitching this year
So the answer to last nights trivia question:
Stu11 : 7/8/2017 12:58 pm : link
How can a team have their leadoff hitter walk 3 straight times, have the other team commit 5 errors and have their MVP candidate 3 hitter hit a HR yet only score 4 runs?

Answer: Hit Chase Headley 2nd

Romine's definitely another weak link in the lineup...didn't realize he was that horrid against lefties, but he's another out waiting to happen. But Choi batted .170 with the Angels last year, so he's no great shakes either. Not sure what his splits were.
For the love of God with
bigbluehoya : 7/8/2017 1:10 pm : link
Chase Fucking Headley in the 5 hole.

I'm a moderately patient fan and I have always liked Girardi, but I don't think it's reactionary or ridiculous to say he is doing a shit job this year.

This season is exciting if for no other reason than
mavric : 7/8/2017 1:11 pm : link
I have had the position
bluesince56 : 7/8/2017 1:18 pm : link
for years that the manager makes too many stupid moves. The organization will never learn that starting pitching is a major reason why the Yanks tank every year or can't go deep in the playoffs. Same this year.
Fantastic..
FatMan in Charlotte : 7/8/2017 1:23 pm : link
the Brewers get an extra run on a blown call.
Can we petition MLB to start the All Star Break early?
Stu11 : 7/8/2017 1:24 pm : link
.
Can't blame injuries for this.
bluesince56 : 7/8/2017 1:25 pm : link
Brewers are having batting practice.
so basically since the All Star announcements:
Stu11 : 7/8/2017 1:26 pm : link
-Sevi has been bombed twice
-Betances has blown 3 games
-Sanchez has barely had a hit
Nice.
This team is looking quite toasty.
Dave in Hoboken : 7/8/2017 1:26 pm : link
.
We are on fumes right now.
bceagle05 : 7/8/2017 1:42 pm : link
Our All-Star Break started two weeks ago.
I still think..
FatMan in Charlotte : 7/8/2017 1:43 pm : link
they are going to win today.

7-5.
Severino
EddieNYG : 7/8/2017 1:46 pm : link
With 5 K's through 2 and Yankees are down 3-0.
Pathetic

Holy Fuck
Stu11 : 7/8/2017 1:48 pm : link
.
Chase Headley strikes again.
bceagle05 : 7/8/2017 1:48 pm : link
What a fucking bum. He'll get another vote of confidence from Cashman though.
Headley is horrendous
EddieNYG : 7/8/2017 1:48 pm : link
He just did a poor job of moving Didi to 3rd. Didi got caught in a run down between 2nd and 3rd. Than gets thrown out at first base due to HORRENDOUS base running.
Chase Headley should be hitting 10th in the order
Stu11 : 7/8/2017 1:49 pm : link
for a beer league softball team
Girardi
PaulN : 7/8/2017 2:04 pm : link
Needs to be removed, I have always thought he did a good job, he has been horrible this season, benching any player the day after they hit a homer is moronic. He has done it over and over again with his stupidity.
Girardi has had a rough couple weeks and year
DennyInDenville : 7/8/2017 2:10 pm : link
Wonder how much him and Cash clashed over Carter, Romine at 1B etc..

I still think he's brought back, but I wouldn't be shocked if they move elsewhere.

Girardi would get a job elsewhere in 5 mins also
Headley does makes you wonder WTF?
SGMen : 7/8/2017 2:11 pm : link
You can hear the fans booing late yesterday too.

He is a 6th hitter at best.

Mike Graves : 7/8/2017 2:12 pm : link
Yankees are getting no hit by a relief pitcher this team has seriously hit rock bottom,
Wow Sanchez
Mike Graves : 7/8/2017 2:14 pm : link
Has been awful,on this home stand and is striking out at an alarming rate
yipee a hit

Two hits today.
Gardner, Ellsbury, Headley....
bceagle05 : 7/8/2017 3:23 pm : link
I just can't stand watching them anymore.
Bottom of the 9th, man on, Headley up, you know he' going to whiff
SGMen : 7/8/2017 3:43 pm : link
And yes he does.

Ellsbury better get a hit here. We just need to tie this game at least.
Why not have Headley

Wow, that was awesome!
MadPlaid : 7/8/2017 3:55 pm : link
Loving the youth movement. Frazier had a good day, ya think? Glad to see Betances and Chapman pitching well, too.
About time the Yanks came through and stole one
mfsd : 7/8/2017 3:56 pm : link
What a game for Frazier!!
Went to the garage
dune69 : 7/8/2017 3:57 pm : link
for a project and missed the second half of the game. Good comeback!!!
Yanks doing all they can to keep live BP arms, with Montgomery

98 MPH fastball on the inner half and Frazier just smoked it
So who do you think
bceagle05 : 7/8/2017 4:39 pm : link
would perform better during the second half of this season - Gardy or Frazier? I'd say Frazier, but I still expect him to be sent down.
Yes, if only
LS : 7/8/2017 4:51 pm : link
you knew who would play better, that's who you'd play. Just need to predict the future.
Well, predicting the future as best you can
bceagle05 : 7/8/2017 4:56 pm : link
is pretty much what a GM is paid to do. Quality burn though.
Well, if Cashman got a decent deal for Gardner I'm sure he'd pull the
yatqb : 7/8/2017 5:22 pm : link
trigger.
Frazier's bat speed
Stan in LA : 7/8/2017 5:29 pm : link
Is the anti-Chris Carter.
Huge win
PaulN : 7/8/2017 5:41 pm : link
Did they ever need this one. The other more important development was that Betances and Chapman looked like themselves, FINALLY! If these 2 can get their act together this can still turn out to be a very entertaining division race. These kids could really use a pennant race, even if it ended heart breaking, that is an experience that will really do them great service for the future.
True, Paul. It would be great experience for the kids.
yatqb : 7/8/2017 5:45 pm : link
But do you want us to trade top prospects for pitching? I'd only do that for younger guys who are cost controlled for a while, and those will be very expensive.
just catching up and watching the highlights now -
Del Shofner : 7/8/2017 5:59 pm : link
great win, hope it generates some momentum for them!
Holliday 2-4 tonight with Scranton
DennyInDenville : 7/8/2017 10:21 pm : link
Scranton is now 22 games over .500!
Mateo goes yard
DennyInDenville : 7/8/2017 10:22 pm : link
Trenton is actually 31 games over .500 !! Crazy

Gardner, the consummate professional.

#1) Much better OF and is still the best CF on the team
#2) Gardy is a clutch player who eats pitches.
#3) Frazier is still a AAA player and 22 yrs old. His time is fast approaching, no doubt. Gardner's is in the rear view mirror, but he is still the better pro at this point.
Frazier's swing...
manh george : 7/8/2017 10:43 pm : link
looked much better today. As O'Neill (I think it was) had said, he had been getting onto his front leg too quickly. On the triple and homer, he wasn't necessarily staying back, but he was balanced on both legs so that his crazy-high bat speed could work itself. I don't know the pro swing well enough to know if he should be staying back even longer, but this looked great based upon my limited knowledge. Kid has huge athleticism.
McKinney on a crazy tear.
manh george : 7/8/2017 10:54 pm : link
22 year old had third 3-hit game in 9 games since coming to SWB. Hitting .412 in those 9 games. Not even on anyone's radar earlier.
