Something decent better be coming back. Not expecting much, but borderline rotation guys who have already been extended dont excite me. I'd just as soon hold on to Melo and revisit a trade next week or during the season.

this point I'd be pleasantly surprised if they come away with Harkless. No snark but I'm expecting a really poor return of filler and possibly a guy with a bad deal like Leonard "He was a lotto pick 6 years ago!!!!"

i dont think its anderson because woj said they had a 3rd team willing to help but there was 1 player that neither knicks nor houston wanted...

why trade him? Just buy him out if your goal is to rid yourself of Melo. They have to feel like they are getting something of value, whether thats an asset or 2 or cap space.

I agree, but as an "ex-Knicks fan" I'm rooting for an absurdly stupid trade. Mills has shown he's capable of that.

But Blazers will need to get rid of more salary to make it worth it Leonard craabe or tuner have to be on their way out. I have to think it's turner or craabe to cut tax bill. In order for someone to take one of those awful contracts those has to start with a 1st and 2nd of you think about Carroll trade. Plus these contracts are a year longer than Carroll. What I am fearful is knicks will include lee and take on turner and get protected first which I am not sure about. Would rather trade lee at trade deadline to a contender for a future #1. There will be a contender that loses someone during the season and lee is a great fill in guy.

and in his defense Dirk was still an elite player (and they were chasing stars) so they likely cared more about helping right away than they should have but GF legit took 3 years before he as anything special

I think most people would try to maximize the Dirk championship window. I dont think many people saw this level of development as a reasonable outcome.

IF the Knicks get that you should do a dance...no chance
