So is this really happening? Is Chris Christie gonna end up with the Francesa gig? He's been on way too much to not think it's a legit audition with legit interest on both sides.
Lol Governor Christie better get used to plenty of that
You think Mike Francesa gets prank called a lot? It'll be open season on Christie, especially when he no longer has "governor" status to scare people off a bit.
RE: Is there anyone who actually likes Chris Christie?
Lived there for 30 years or so. I visit my folks constantly who still live there (and are having so much trouble affording livibg in the house that has been completely paid for for over 15 years) and legitimately love that town. It is horribly run and is getting ruined by these rich transplants from the UWS who are running the town.
That said, I have listened to Mike from Montclair for years and wish I knew who he was. Meaning, I am sure I have seen him or even talked sports with him at Tierney's, Egan's, Depot Square/Erie Saloon. But I cantput a face to him.

My dad is from Montclair and I lived there for a few years myself. We lived on Lexington Ave. I haven't been up there in a while. I wonder how different it must look now because it's probably been a good decade since I was last there.
I believe he's on the left in this picture. These three - Mike from Montclair, Al from White Plains and Dennis from Yonkers - are all longtime WFAN callers and have their own little show. I believe Mike from Montclair is an attorney, but may be retired.
Leaving aside all the political and beach stuff, what sports qualifications does he bring to the table? Separate from the Cowboy fan stuff, in what world is he even remotely a sports expert? I don't think very much of most sports hosts but they know something about the subject matter. What evidence is the there that he is anyway knowledgeable about the major sports to have meaningful conversations. Looks like if he's hired, it would be because of his confrontational personality and fame or infamy. If the Fan hires him, and I would be surprised if they do, he'll get high ratings initially but lose lots of listeners who listen for the sports.
Michael Kay is foaming at the mouth for Christie to take over

Hey T Biz!!! Yea thats the Douth End. My buddy used to live on Jefferson and I used to hang at his place playing video games all the time.
Really not much has save for the Bloomfield ave area and Upper Montclair around Bellevue. The South End is really untouched. One of the areas that looks identical to how I remember it. Save for a few 4 story apt buildings.

When were you there?
Aww man... I haven't LIVED there since the mid-80s! I went to middle school there between '84-'86. In '86 is when we moved down to Somerset and stayed until I graduated high school in '92. But my grandmother and some family still lived there so I visited pretty often. A lil while after I posted that I realized that I was actually there about 3-4 years ago because my lil bro threw my nephew's baby shower there at a place right off of Bloomfield Ave not far from the police station (or at least where I remember it being).
I think it was more a chance for this WFAN listener to give a piece of his mind to Christie and have a chance to call him out for what he thinks Christie deserves.

Lol, I figured... Was just trying to see if you could reminisce with me.
Baby shower off bloomfield ave? Damn, thatd be tough. I cant think of a place that can host that cept maybe the office, but thats not only after when you were talking abbout but def not a "shower" joint. Just an over priced pub with an above average beer selection. Unless it was up the road in Verona.
Either way my dude, Im sure you can vouch for that town as a place to grow up. Hell, it was at the softball field across from Nishuane where I won the Montclair Intermediate(age 14-16) league world series with David Tyree. He started the rally back from down 9 runs with a home run that yours truly hit the 2 run series winning hit in the bottom of the 6th. Lol, that town gave me memories for sure.

Yeah... it was in some office looking type building that I'd never been in before. It was nice. Looking it up on Google Maps, I think it was on the corner of Bloomfield and Valley Rd... right at the corner there. Honestly, I've always loved Montclair but didn't enjoy the 2 years I spent in school there because of the adjustment period it took for me to get used to living there. I was in the 4th and 5th grades there and didn't enjoy it at all. Think I was missing all my friends I left behind when we moved in with my dad. Funny enough, the three of us moved back down to Somerset after two years and I was able to reconnect with all my friends that I'd left.
But I still have a few fond memories of my time there. My best friend there was this kid named Timmy who had a HUGE Newfoundland dog (all black, she was a beauty). I remember getting into a fight with the school bully back then because he was picking on him one day in class to the point where the teacher herself started laughing at his jokes and when she started laughing that's when Timmy ran out of the classroom. I gave the teacher an evil look and went after him to make sure he was ok... then came back to the classroom and proceeded to start fighting the bully. It was a good fight too before it got broken up. LOL!
When Christie was a US Attorney, he put Jared Kushner's father in jail.

That's listed in Webster's under "Revenge is a dish best served cold."

There's a youtube video with those 3
Christie is a joke.

But they seem to be giving him every opportunity to get the job.
There's a lot of brain dead people out there who find what they have to say on that station amusing...belive it or not
