The company they have to run concessions Levy is one of the cheapest ones out there. The way concessions like this work is companies bid on the account based on the budget set for that program by ownership. The majority of them like Levy/Sodexo/Aramark and such always undercut the proposal to get the account. And when it is all said and done they can’t run the numbers for the budget without providing cheap quality food and paying their workforce minimum wage. In this type of industry the old adage you get what you pay for will truly be the case.
My guess is after the first or second home game all you will hear about the new stadium will be complaints on food, service, people getting sick from the food and overall hygiene.
Unless Blank has subsidized the concessions which I do not see happening all they did was give parameters to the dining service on pricing and menu options. The rest is up to the company that provides service to meet budget and at those prices with the staff they would need something has to give.
Bottom line Blank could not pay me to eat that food.

I was at Kings Dominion amusement park a month ago. $4 for a water. It is amazing what it costs for food and drinks at most entertainment venues and parks.
I was going going to be in Boston in August and was thinking about taking the family to Fenway. Four Tickets would have been $300 or more and concessions would have been another $100. Not worth it for a family that is mildly interested in baseball.

He couldn't pay me to drink Bud Light, but the margin on a 12 oz. draft is probably about $4.50 out of the $5. cost. And I've never heard of someone getting sick from a pretzel. No, they won't be paying the workers $20. per hour but they don't have to go all the way down to whatever the Ga. minimum wage is.
Have you ever paid for anything inside of MetLife? I've had to, practically at gunpoint when I've taken my kids - it's awful. How could hot dogs or what they try to pass as hot cocoa (warm brown water, essentially) be any worse?
Football is the one sport where I can't understand why anyone would care about the concessions. Half the deal is the tailgate, why go into the stadium and overpay for garbage?
for a bunch of reasons, but I always thought that they did it right at Camden Yards. Its been a good 7 or 8 years since I've been there but they had it set up almost like a fair where you'd have different styles concessions all along the outfield perimeter.
Mercedes Benz stadium is absolutely amazing. Did a walk through as part of an event I was at at Georgia World Congress. Very jealous of the Dirty Bird fans
They let you bring food and water in to Met Life.... Â
so I fill up and booze out at the tailgate then bring in a bag of pretzels or nuts and a bunch of waters in plastic bottles. Haven't purchased food at a game in years. Maybe a beer here and there. Can even bring in subs in clear plastic wrap if you have a family. Just need to be smart to save money.
Nothing like paying $8.50 for a hot dog at the stadium Â
Yes, the $40+ for two beers and two dogs is a gourmet experience. And the investment advice and discussion on which Mercedes to buy among the workers as a concession stand was interesting.

Kings Dominion charges $6.99 for a fucking frozen banana. Not kidding. We have season passes to KD but never, ever buy the food there. We bring a cooler, leave it in the car, and go eat it at the picnic tables when we want lunch.
I normally don't complain about beer prices because what's the point? It's always been like that. But I just went to a concert at Jones Beach and got a Founders All Day IPA for $19. Nineteen dollars! It was $43 dollars for 2 beers and a water. If I didn't have a mild drinking problem and really wanted the beer, I wouldn't have bothered.

A Founders All Day IPA for $19? J.F.C. That is one of the most absurd things I've read.
The most I ever paid for a brew was $15 & change for a Harpoon @ a Red Sox game a few years back.
"Rent" in the stadium for food chains will be high. So if you want premium food you'll have that option but this way families can afford to go, a hot dog is a hot dog ....

The few times my son and I go the Yankee Stadium, we eat at Dominick's on Arthur Ave. For what it would cost for 2 beers, 2 sodas and 4 hotdogs we have and Italian feast with plenty to spare for a couple of cannolis to eat on the way to the Stadium

I'm not sure if you intended it or not, but your post seems to be implying some kind of connection between high stadium food prices and better food quality, and I don't think that's a thing.
I bet you that after 3 years the prices will go up. The low concessions is a draw to get more sidewalk fans in Atlanta in the door. Usually their games dont sell out, and I'm including the playoff games last year (tickets were available for face for both games pretty easily, and I went to the Seattle game).
That is what tailgating is for. Load up and go watch the game. If you cannot go without food for three hours after you have just inhaled food at your car, then you most likely have other issues.
That being said, those prices are not bad at all for a stadium. Don't credit the Falcons unless they are managing the foodservice operations themselves.

What about drinking their beer?
$5. For a bud light. There will be premium options available as well

If the beer is cold absolutely
Curious as far as the size for 5 bucks, And I am sure all the rest of the brands will be the standard 8-12 bucks per.

I very rarely get anything to eat at an NFL game, but when I do, splurging for the BBQ nachos at $14 isn't high on my list of choices.
