The more I read about 4th RD pick RB Wayne Gallman, Clemson
SGMen : 7/12/2017 7:28 am : link
The more I believe he's close to NFL ready and will challenge. I'm with the writer's that Gallman will likely be sitting back and learning as a rookie. He can play special teams so that is where he'll find time on the field.

I hold firm to the idea we'll carry four RB's (Perkins, Vereen, Darkwa and Gallman) so until injuries hit or (god forbid) Perkins struggles, we won't see Gallman early on.

Remember folks, Darkwa is a very good (not just good) special teams player he just needs to stay healthy and hopefully those leg injuries have finally fully healed up.
Rookie DT Dalvin Tomlinson, Alabama 5th year Sr.
SGMen : 7/12/2017 7:39 am : link
I liked this pick because I didn't see him as a project but rather as a guy who will see playing time later in the season as injuries hit and so forth.

I have DT R. Thomas starting on opening day because he's a big body veteran that knows our defensive scheme. I see J. Bromley stepping in as the 3rd DT and backup. We usually don't activate 3 DL's on game day so D. Tomlinson likely watches and learns much like Linval Joseph and Jonathan Hankins did as rookies, though I think Tomlinson may be the "most ready" of the 3.

Tomlinson's strength is his strength. He will likely be an above average run stuffer in this league. Not sure how far he'll go with his pass rush, especially as a rookie. But he could play Snack's position if called upon in the future, the distant future I pray (LOL!).

The article on 3rd Rd pick QB David Webb is quite "ho hum" boring
SGMen : 7/12/2017 8:41 am : link
I do concur that unless something devastating (injuries) or very surprising (Webb dominates the pre-season) happens, Webb will be inactive for the entire season as he watches and learns the NFL game behind veteran Eli Manning and likely backup Geno Smith (recovering from ACL during OTA's and Mini-Camp as I understand it).
Based on what I've read and the BBI posts, the kid has all the tools he just needs technique work, film work and pre-season playing time to get acclimated to playing under center and reading a defense. He is the #1 rookie guy I'm looking at this camp followed by D. Tomlinson, E. Engram, W. Gallman and Avery Moss.
Really good article on Jarron this morning...
Dan in the Springs : 7/12/2017 9:18 am : link
He has his work cut out for him going from the DL to OT. Interesting that they are working him at LT. I liked his attitude about the switch and his realistic view about possibly making the team and/or PS. I think he has a chance at the PS if he does continue to develop this spring.
