I just purchase an X96 Smart TV box running Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. I am new to these media players and researched the boxes and set up via You Tube. I was able to connect to and access the internet and other apps including KODI. But unlike the list of streaming videos I saw displayed in EXODUS in the YouTube demos, the movie streams in Exodus on my X96 are not being offered in HD or specifically in 1080p. I have come across a few that say HD or 1080p but the stream is SD.
Is it that Exodus really does not have that many full HD movies and I should try another add-on or could it be my set up of the smart tv box? Should I uninstall Exodus and re-install?
Any suggestions on how to fix this would be appreciated.

Kodi is dying a slow death. Dish Network was starting to bring lawsuits against the addon developers so they stopped supporting their addons and disappeared.
Lot of variables. Obviously the newer the movie, the less probability of there being an HD/1080P stream. I keep my expectations low on movies that are still in theaters or just out. For example, it took me a few months to find a solid HD stream of Get Out, even if the stream was labeled as "HD."
For the older movies, I've pretty much seen all with the 1080P option, and I can confirm it's been pretty spot on. In the last month or two, I've watched The Martian, Arrival, and Secret Life of Pets, with no issue at all.
Some of the newer movies take time. Still no HD stream for Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and Baby Driver was full on CAM from a theater - so I'll just wait until they get to HD before watching.
It is hit or miss, but any movie out more than 6 months likely has not just a HD stream, but a 1080 stream too.

Kodi is just fine. People using it as a front end for all of their local content have zero issues.
The Kodi team are not the ones who develop the offending apps. Further, any lawsuit against them would fail anyway. It is not illegal to view pirated streams.

True, I should have clarified by saying "Kodi addons are dying a slow death"

Yep, that you're definitely correct on. First it was Phoenix, now it's Exodus. SportsDevil is having issues as well.
My guess is that Amazon will eventually find a way to lock down the OS so that they brick if non-play store apps get installed or something.
Not much can be done though if one wants to use a PC, nVidea Shield, etc., but the extra hoops to jump through is probably a sufficient enough deterrent for most.
Thats what makes its less appealing.. No one wants to keep adding new add-ons weekly to get one or 2 movies in before new ones have to be installed. Overall Kodi experience has gone south for the streamers.. the OP should have done this a while ago..
I'm both ignorant and suspicious about the tools used. Is there any way there could be some back-door benefits to the streamers or add-ons?
