it is improved from last time dramatically and will be better next time. His feed actually improves in the last third of the broadcast
I kept adjusting the sound on his feed based on a mistaken assumption about extraneous sounds encroaching on his feed. I had to actually take my headphones off to figure this out, and that happened 40 minutes into the taping. Once I realized that the extraneous sound incursion was on location I was able to make a better adjustment for him.
Sy's sound was hugely improved because we were on location together with separate mics that had windscreens to muffle extraneous sounds. Eric was calling in. The extraneous sounds could only be heard when he was talking because Sy and I were silent and our mics picked up the extraneous sounds.
If you have problems with Eric's feed, I have some suggestions if you like instead of using a phone to call in. Phone audio could be dicey because of the mic and cell signals.
Open Broadcast Software is used for a lot of streaming and you can use it for audio.

we could have used a vop this time -- but I hadn't prepared for that and didn't know what our new location was until the day before we broadcasted
I'm interested to hear what your alternatives are -- but I still need to run whatever it is through my sound board
Eric's quality was good this time -- very consistent - so I do think I can work with it the way we did it -- if I hadn't been playing with adjusting the extraneous sound on his feed -- we probably are not even having this conversation
Best piece of software (that is free) is just use a discord server and run the audio output from your PC to your soundboard.
You can really record quality audio over it and you can run Discord via a PC or Mobile account.
It'll also act as a chat channel if you wanted to talk to each other during the show without recording it.
Also you might want a 4th person there to feed information to you via chat and you can use that.
Discordapp.com
I really recommend it. You can have as many people as you want on it too. If you ever wanted to have a live audience you can have people in the channel as well and mute everyone and unmute them if you want participation from the audience.
This would probably be the best way to do things if you ever had a guest on that you wanted to "take calls".
not - an -- many -- I was a park ranger and gave public tours and lectures on Park History, natural and historic landscapes, horticulture and many other topics - then I became NYC Park Historian -- then I was a public relations officer in administration
NYC Parks are vast and very interesting -- with a diverse following that appreciates comprehensive interpretation -- it also has fascinating features both historical, manmade and natural
It's pretty amazing that as dense as NYC is it had well over 25,000 acres of parkland when I left Parks to go to law school in 1996.
Gotta work on the sound issues though. Eric still sounded terrible with the volume corrected. Telephones are a big no no for podcasts. He needs a vocal mic (there are USB mics that work well) and you should use Skype or something similar for recording. Otherwise, looking forward to more episodes.
Especially on the OL. We hear about size and talent but that doesn't mean much in the NFL. Can the guy improve as a football player? Can he improve his technique? These are the big questions along the OL outside of health with the interior guys.
Few disagreements w/ SY:
1. Perkins/Vereen -- Perkins will get the most carries. Vereen may be 50/50 or close on snaps due to his impact in the passing game but Perkins will get the carries. Vereen simply can't hold up over 16 games to get the lion's share of the snaps.
2. Shep/Marshall -- Shep isn't an outside receiver. He wasn't a great YAC guy last year. His snaps will suffer w/ the addition of Engram/Ellison. It's going to take an absurd amount of production per snap for Shep to have a better year than Marshall and I just don't see it happening. Also underrated Marshall's YAC ability. I remember him making some big YAC plays on quick hitters and bubble screens w/ the Jets. Yes it's not '15, but he's still got the speed/physicality to make something happen w/ the attention the other weapons will command.
3. Beckham -- seemed a little to bearish on Beckham. I think the other weapons could allow Beckham to post his best yardage and TD totals to date w/ the Giants.
An agree with Eric, we might fore go a true full back. We could motion Ellison into the full back spot if needed. Just line him up there and motion him to either side of the Olive as Eli reads the D.
"no FB Shane Smith unless he is a top 3 Special Teamer"
Special teams are important, but I now look at as three FB = Webb's roster spot. That is assuming we carry 3 qb

OBJ will have his best year ever yards wise as he'll have more deep ball opportunities open up for him, I'd think. Maybe 100-1550-12 type numbers? I too am not bearish on him in the least.
I'm sorry, not sure what the consensus of his tenure is here, I want this guy to be the next great offensive coach but I'm not seeing it.
His scheme looks way too basic, and I'm not just talking about last year. It got even less creative after Coughlin left. Not only have I never seen a team stay in the same personnel group 95% of the time, it was also poor play design. I remember an article last year detailing how he oftentimes had no one going over the middle to occupy a S.
By the end of the year we were basically kneeling on the football as to not to blow it for the defense.
This year there are no excuses for Ben. He's got the weapons to run a varied, innovative attack. Let's see what he's got. I'm hoping he was "holding back" as Spags was his 1st year back, knowing he didn't have the horses. But I am more than a bit skeptical. Would really have liked to see him bring in a WCO guy as Offensive Coordinator, I still don't get the Sully rehire either.
I too published many publications.

That waa a bug that gidiefor figured out later. Shouldn't be an issue moving forward.
No more conference calls!
Eric's sound is clean - even though it was lower audio feed for the first 2/3s -- it's just competing with a few trucks.
I've been playing with Audacity and Guitarband for the recording -- we used Guitarband this time
I am frustrated with Audacity right now. I also subscribe to Adobe - but haven't tried their recorder yet

I have been enjoying Art Stapleton's "Locked on Giants" He might even be a good guest if you go down that path.

All good information and thoughts about the team. Honest review and break down and expectations.
Looking forward to the D side of the ball. As has been mentioned in a recent post, it is nice to believe in the defense again! Thank god!
Will DaveTe be able to join the mix going forward?

It also adds additional value of a live chat channel for BBI. Would be great for game discussion imo.
A lot of practice squad'ers on this roster for the OL.

Another option to possibly try is Reaper.
