Don't drink tap water, use ice, or eat any fruit/veggies washed in water.
Also recommend a travel humidifier and sleep with a little vicks under the nose to block the smell that the air sometimes has.

It's alright but for dinner and drinks go over to polonco. Easy cab ride after rush hour and much better atmosphere.

First, Mexico City traffic is beyond horrible and there is almost no way to get around that part of the experience. I have stayed in the Fiesta Americana the last couple of trips on business and the hotel is nice, though a little dated. Like many of the hotels in the area they have nice restaurants. However, the concierge is incredibly helpful in recommending restaurants and I have felt very safe wandering out for dinners. Rincon Argentino is a great Argentine steakhouse, but pricey.

Amazing old ice cream parlor with exotic flavors. Probably best ice cream i've ever had.
