it helps me when I don't drink on an empty stomach. A glass or two of water before bed, and then another glass or two when you inevitably wake up to pee helps also.
For relief, a good go to is MJ/THC/Weed if it's an option for you (i.e., if you're not going to work that day). Will instantly relieve nausea and headache.
is Hangover Heaven - I only know of them being in Vegas and they'll hook you up to an IV and some friends of mine there for a bachelor party a couple years ago provided testimonials.
Biggest key for me is always staying hydrated. I try to have a water between every drink or two.
Pedialyte/Gatorade and more water before bed along with a small bite to eat (don't eat $20 worth of McDonalds) and a couple Advil usually does the trick.
Also, it's the last thing you'll want to do, but getting outside and going for a brisk walk and getting some fresh oxygen actually helps a great deal. It's good to get the blood flowing a bit.
It also depends what you drink. Darker liquors are much harder on me than clear or light liquor. I try not to mix too many things in one night and stick with one or two things.
And yes, weed definitely helps the next morning if you partake in that sort of thing.
Minute I wake up I guzzle an ice cold 24oz glass of water and usually feel fine. Another trick I do is take 2 Alka Seltzer acid reducers before bed seems to help
The only cure I ever found for a hangover is seltzer and OJ. Works AWESOME.
My wife and I have always looked out for one another - on the rare occasion where one of us has gone overboard, the other ALWAYS forces mass quantities of water on the drunk.
I had a wedding we were at once - I was fall-down drunk. Spaten's and Johnnie Red. Woke up - shocked - no hangover at all. I couldn't remember - but she told me she must have made me slug damn near a half gallon of water.
But 2 things that help me are eating a banana and drinking a Trenta Ived Green Tea from Starbucks.
Also, if I manage to wake up real quick an hour or two earlier than I ultimately need to rise and shine --- taking a piss, slugging a couple quick glasses of water and then getting another 1-2 hours of shuteye helps a ton.

One glass of water per alcoholic drink+coitus prevents them for me.
Diazepam??? Isn't that Valium? Sounds like a sketchy plan to down some Valium if you've been drinking all night. Or maybe this was a joke to kill the guy? Not sure. Logically, doesn't make a lot of sense.
For the record, the Brewers yeast is a magic bullet. Tons of vitamin B will keep the fluid between your brain and your skull plentiful. It's called synovial fluid. Something I learned freshman year biology. Professor Reitz was great.
If staying up past midnight eat another small meal - something high in protein. In the morning, have an Advil with a tall glass of water with a lemon squeezed into it, or eat an orange. Eventually make your way towards a nice breakfast.
Main causes of hangovers: nutrient deficiency, low blood sugar, dehydration, lack of sleep.
concoction for both the preventative and the next day relief.
I am not even 100% sure I needed the relief, but I tend to suffer hangovers a few days past the actual drinking, which I know is very weird, but it's just the way my body works -
It was pretty much flawless and so far, I have suffered zero negative effects of my night out last Saturday.
The day of the night I planned on drinking - I took 2 willow root pills, I chewed on Ginger candy throughout the day, I took vitamin B complex, and I drank some sea salt water. Yes, sea salt water. It is not easy to do. Regular old sea salt, 1/4 tsp in some water and chug it.
IMHO, When we lose water, we lose salt with it.....sweat is salty, pee is salty......when we become dehydrated we lose water and salt. What are the effect of low sodium? Headache.
Hangover relief: Water, water, water - and a couple of extra-strength Tylenol or two Advils...then drink more water!
Plus tons of water or G2 and take 3 motrin. Earlier in the game the better...
prevention other than not drinking is to stay hydrated, so lots of water.
I read sprite is good for relief, but never tried it, if I'm on vacation or a social setting, it's easier to just drink through it.

Milk Thistle
Thiamine (as part of a B-complex multivitamin)

But when I have, Garorade.
For when you know it's gonna be a real bad one and you need to function the next day, emergen-c before bed really helps.
Get at least 6 hours of sleep.

IF I know I have to function the next day I eat a good size meal before drinking. 2 Glass of H2O, a vitamin, and Advil before bed.
I rarely do it because the shit is basically poison.
I just drink 16 ounces of water for every 4 drinks and am usually good to go. That and making sure the stomach is full before starting the party.

Then before going to sleep, pound another shitload. 14-16 tablets. Next morning, perfect.
Just ... Trust.

B vitamins plus water between drinks, and at the end of the day.

Wait until 50. Two glasses of wine at a restaurant now does it for me.
Apparently you never worked in the EMS, fire, or medical field.

If you weak up in pain, pedialyte is your best friend
something fatty (olive oil works) to coat your stomach
multivitamin
drinking a lot of water throughout the night
relief
- Pedialyte (electrolytes, glucose)
- eggs (cysteine breaks down alcohol toxins)
- ibuprofen
- banana (potassium)

Don't discount this - I'd give it a try.
