NFT: Yankees vs Red Sox July 15th

section125 : 7/15/2017 4:24 pm
Severino vs Sale.

98 mph special. If you like fastballs, you'll love this game.

See if they can be leading 8-0 going into the 9th to eliminate the BP.

Thought Judge might have gotten ahold of o e there.

Can the Yankees hold a three run lead? I have no idea anymore.
Peirzynski is a worldclass scrub

Straight trash.
Wonder if Judge could use

A game off tomorrow.

Might be a good idea. He's probably exhausted.
I thought Heller could hit triple digits?

He can enjoy it while he's taking the bus back to Scranton. I know they get an extra guy for the double header, but they'll almost definitely need another guy beyond that.

Great game by Sevy and big hit by Holliday.
Yeah, Holder and Heller will almost certainly be optioned
Greg from LI : 7/15/2017 10:09 pm : link
They might not even leave town, but they will just need fresh arms tomorrow.
Nice win
Kyle in NY : 7/15/2017 10:17 pm : link
This team doesn't quit, got to give them credit for that.

Other than Chapman's bad inning last night, the bullpen has had a good start to the second half
I'd like to see Judge get game 1
B in ALB : 7/15/2017 10:18 pm : link
off tomorrow.

In fact, let him sleep in. Show up for the 8p game.
I'm sure he'll get one of those games off
Greg from LI : 7/15/2017 10:24 pm : link
Winning tonight makes blowing last night's game that much more irritating. They'd only be down a game and half if they had held on.
I respect the Sox
BigBlueShock : 7/15/2017 10:34 pm : link
And I'm not saying they aren't better than the Yanks as currently constructed, but I just don't see why anyone should be afraid of them. Sale is awesome. Betts is awesome. After that, is anybody really afraid of anyone else on that team? Bogaerts is nice, if you like singles hitters, I guess. Benitendi has some very good upside, but he's not scarring anybody yet. Who else? Bradley? Lol. Pedroia? Lol. Seriously, who? Their starting pitching outside of Sale is utterly average at best.

There is no reason in the world to believe that the Red Sox are head and shoulders better than the Yankees. In fact, last nights Chapman meltdown aside, the Yankees have proven as much in head to head, on the field.

Completely agree. Just need the bullpen to get their crap together and I like their chances.
Awesome is a bit much for Betts
Greg from LI : 7/15/2017 10:50 pm : link
Judge is awesome. Betts is good.
Yeah I'm with ya on the Sox. We hung with the Astros, too.
bceagle05 : 7/15/2017 10:51 pm : link
I think we're gonna leave these teams in the dust over the next couple of years.
Nice to have Holliday back.
Dave in Hoboken : 7/15/2017 10:55 pm : link
What a huge HR tonight. Can't wait to get Hicks back.
What a crazy game -
Del Shofner : 7/15/2017 10:56 pm : link
I caught the first two innings and the last two innings like six hours apart, the latter with some other Yanks fans so that was fun.
Sox are nothing special
Stu11 : 7/15/2017 10:59 pm : link
After Sale what SP scares you? Price? He's a shell of himself. Porcello and his 4-11 record? Pomeranz and that 120 pitches of junk he flips up there for 5+ innings? Anyone in that pen besides Kimbrel? Their hitting is decent but they don't have a bonafide 100 RBI guy anywhere in that lineup. We haven't even played .400 ball for a month and thats the only reason they are in 1st. Good chance they win the division but they don't scare anyone in the playoffs. In fact if we picked up a #3 or 4 SP and got everyone healthy we'd have a good shot to overtake them. Frankly starting with last Saturday besides the hiccup in the 9th yesterday (mostly out of horrific defense and luck) our bull pen has been other wordly. 9 scoreless tonight, 4 until the 9th last night, scoreless Saturday and Sunday last weekend.
Plain and simple

Huge victory for the Yankees tonight. What a pair of onions they showed coming back tonight and stealing a game after a horrible loss yesterday. They may not be ready to win a World Series but they are building that no quit attitude that will get them there in the next couple of years.

Yep. This team is going to be competing for a World Series in a couple years.

Great pitching in a very long game and clutch hitting for a change. I'll never understand what happened exactly in that 11th inning mess at first base.
The pitching is
DG : 7/16/2017 9:52 am : link
the key. They're not beating Houston this year, so i can see the reasoning for not trading for a starter. I'm not sure why the front office seems to be enamored with Verlander.

The lineup isn't really that good top to bottom. Girardi needs to get away from trotting out lineups with 4 below average (at this time) hitters. Getting Castro back is huge.

Where are you seeing that the front office is enamored with Verlander? This is literally the first time I've even seen his named mentioned in connection with the Yankees

Actually they are interested in getting Kate Upton into the Stadium.....
I'm on board with Kate Upton
BigBlueShock : 7/16/2017 10:20 am : link
But she's gonna cost us at least one of Torres, Frazier, or Adams and a boat load of other prospects. It's been reported many times that the Tigers are looking for a huge haul. As nice as her tits are, there are many nice tits in the world but only one Gleyber Torres.

Oh, and she'd also be bringing her broken down side kick with her that makes a shit ton of money. Major pass.
