Castro is enemy number 1 for a couple of posters on here for some strange reason, but it sure is nice having his bat back in the lineup. Hopefully his hammy is ok though, he didn't look too good running there on that double.
Looks to have full command of the mound out there and isn't intimidated in the least bit. I love the no BS approach too. If you can hit my 98 mph heat then go right ahead
being out of the lineup simply to get another right handed batter in there. And it's Toe - not some big dangerous hitter. Plus, Didi does ok vs lefties.

This. You can't convince me that Torreyes has a better chance of getting on base against Sale than Didi does. And Didi is also a very good SS. And another thing, sometimes it helps a hitter going through a slump to face the same handed pitcher as it forces them to try to stay in there and go the other way. But Joe has decided he needs to play Torreyes every day for some reason. I love Joe and don't want to sound to harsh on him, but he has done some weird things this year for sure
I was frustrated before. Sevy was getting squeezed and this has been a hideous month and two days of Yankee baseball. I still think Headley is part of the problem relative to other years when the Yanks had quality veterans they could add to at the deadline.

Haha, it's all good Phil. No need to apologize. We are all frustrated and youvare absolutely correct about Headley. He literally brings nothing to the table
Gardy, and Eillsbury that are so unusual for the Yanks over the past 23 years or so. For so long we had the core 4, then still had ARod, Tex and others. Hoilliday is the only veteran hitter who has any shot at the HOF of these current vets, and we usually have more.
What the flying FUCK does Cano have to do with anything? So sick of hearing about a guy that has been gone for 2 years now on every single thread. Move on. The Yankees were right to not sign him until the year 2089. Just stop. Please?
thought Moreland stepped on first after fielding the grounder and the force was off. That's why he ran back to first initially and that's why he then again ran to second after the throw got by Moreland.
Lame joke. But at least you were joking. I get so used to these clowns littering every game thread with Cano revisionist nonsense that it's hard to tell a joke from seriousness.
He can enjoy it while he's taking the bus back to Scranton. I know they get an extra guy for the double header, but they'll almost definitely need another guy beyond that.
Great game by Sevy and big hit by Holliday.
Yeah, Holder and Heller will almost certainly be optioned
And I'm not saying they aren't better than the Yanks as currently constructed, but I just don't see why anyone should be afraid of them. Sale is awesome. Betts is awesome. After that, is anybody really afraid of anyone else on that team? Bogaerts is nice, if you like singles hitters, I guess. Benitendi has some very good upside, but he's not scarring anybody yet. Who else? Bradley? Lol. Pedroia? Lol. Seriously, who? Their starting pitching outside of Sale is utterly average at best.
There is no reason in the world to believe that the Red Sox are head and shoulders better than the Yankees. In fact, last nights Chapman meltdown aside, the Yankees have proven as much in head to head, on the field.

Completely agree. Just need the bullpen to get their crap together and I like their chances.
After Sale what SP scares you? Price? He's a shell of himself. Porcello and his 4-11 record? Pomeranz and that 120 pitches of junk he flips up there for 5+ innings? Anyone in that pen besides Kimbrel? Their hitting is decent but they don't have a bonafide 100 RBI guy anywhere in that lineup. We haven't even played .400 ball for a month and thats the only reason they are in 1st. Good chance they win the division but they don't scare anyone in the playoffs. In fact if we picked up a #3 or 4 SP and got everyone healthy we'd have a good shot to overtake them. Frankly starting with last Saturday besides the hiccup in the 9th yesterday (mostly out of horrific defense and luck) our bull pen has been other wordly. 9 scoreless tonight, 4 until the 9th last night, scoreless Saturday and Sunday last weekend.
Huge victory for the Yankees tonight. What a pair of onions they showed coming back tonight and stealing a game after a horrible loss yesterday. They may not be ready to win a World Series but they are building that no quit attitude that will get them there in the next couple of years.

Yep. This team is going to be competing for a World Series in a couple years.
just not in the clutch.
I expect a Yanks DHeader sweep, then the S s

Great pitching in a very long game and clutch hitting for a change. I'll never understand what happened exactly in that 11th inning mess at first base.
the key. They're not beating Houston this year, so i can see the reasoning for not trading for a starter. I'm not sure why the front office seems to be enamored with Verlander.
The lineup isn't really that good top to bottom. Girardi needs to get away from trotting out lineups with 4 below average (at this time) hitters. Getting Castro back is huge.

Where are you seeing that the front office is enamored with Verlander? This is literally the first time I've even seen his named mentioned in connection with the Yankees

Actually they are interested in getting Kate Upton into the Stadium.....
But she's gonna cost us at least one of Torres, Frazier, or Adams and a boat load of other prospects. It's been reported many times that the Tigers are looking for a huge haul. As nice as her tits are, there are many nice tits in the world but only one Gleyber Torres.
Oh, and she'd also be bringing her broken down side kick with her that makes a shit ton of money. Major pass.

Castro is our 2b going foward. Didi is our SS and Torres will be our 3b book it!!!
Toe sure shot himself in the foot last night. Glad Castro is back.
And yes Headley is virtually the last remaining black hole in the lineup (unless Ellsbury is playing).
Not much discipline, swings early and often in the count, but still valuable when he's hitting .325
?? want to take that one back?
Still want to take it back?
Had no play at 1st and was smart to throw behind Betts as he rounded and fell down.
Sometimes I think Binders over-binders.
Same thing earlier in the year. They scored 4 runs in the 8th, I think, to win. Tanaka ???

Want to bet? Lol

better be perennial all stars. Otherwise the Sox absolutely stole Chris Sale
Sale's club options for the next two years are at $12.5M and $13.5M. That's about 40% of his market value
Ugh that's such a bargain, and Moncada is striking out a ton this season at AAA. Looking like a great deal for Boston.
At least Sevy threw well today
Meanwhile they wanted Judge and Sanchez before the deadline last year and Judge and Frazier in the offseason.
More
Yankees are only team in MLB that hasnt been shut out this season.
*At Fenway.
Castro with a infield single, Ells in to pinch run.
Runner in scoring position, no outs.
Because Chase was gonna hit from the left side, even though he's a completely and totally pathetic LHH hitter this year.
Moved torreyes to 3rd?
Ooo true
I honestly don't know what the fuck he was doing. I wouldn't have been mad if they called Ellsbury out too. Yanks catch a break.

He can't let it go. STFU - please AJ.
Agree. You can't win games with him playing everyday.
And Romine stinks too.
No doubt.
Can the Yankees hold a three run lead? I have no idea anymore.
Might be a good idea. He's probably exhausted.
Did Castro get pr for at some point? Where is he?

Great game by Sevy and big hit by Holliday.
Other than Chapman's bad inning last night, the bullpen has had a good start to the second half
In fact, let him sleep in. Show up for the 8p game.
