Fantasy Trade Ajayi/Cooper for Mike Evans

Mr. Nickels : 7/18/2017 10:58 am
Are there any believers in Cooper taking a step to the next level with Carr to become elite?

3 keeper league and I have 4... Gurley Gordon Cooper Ajayi

I was thinking of trading Ajayi for a pick but

Team with Evans is all WR... Would you offer Cooper and Ajayi for Mike Evans or do you feel Cooper will surpass Evans soon (He was drafted higher and has a better QB)?
Evans
annexOPR : 7/18/2017 10:59 am : link
is the better player
Ajayi may be your best RB this year

.
I would not trade two for one
djm : 7/18/2017 11:04 am : link
especially when one of the two is one of the better RBs in the NFL. Don't mess with what aint broke.
not to mention
djm : 7/18/2017 11:06 am : link
you're selling low on Cooper who is only now entering his prime and developing further chemistry in a static offense with the stable QB. Not that Evans isn't, but the Bucs just changed a lot about their offense. And I am one that loves surrounding FF talent with more FF talent, still, it's worth noting.

I'd be happy with Cooper and Ajayi.

He will lose one od them though since he can only keep 3.
I wouldn't do that trade
UConn4523 : 7/18/2017 11:07 am : link
Cooper is going to be at worst your #2 WR with a ton of upside and you also have a RB who will likely be no worse than your #2 RB.

I like Evans and he's better than Cooper, but if he regresses at all in TD's like he did is sophomore season, you lose this deal badly.

Not enough upside for you, IMO.
yeah i read that wrong too
UConn4523 : 7/18/2017 11:09 am : link
Ajayi may have similar value to Evans, so it comes down to who you like more.
I am going to
Mr. Nickels : 7/18/2017 11:11 am : link
keep Cooper.. Entering year 3 and will have stability for years with Carr. I don't trust Winston.

So I won't do this trade.

Back to wrestling with Ajayi vs Gurley.

I feel Ajayi has the most trade value hence why I would keep Gordon Cooper Gurley and trade Ajayi for more...
Honestly, just for this year
robbieballs2003 : 7/18/2017 11:14 am : link
My bottom 2 would be Cooper and Gurley meaning that Gordon and Ajayi would be my top 2. I think you are better off flipping a player for a pick. I don't like Cooper as a number 1 WR. Oakland wants to run the ball and when they pass it they like to spread the ball around. I know it sounds stupid but their offense is almost too potent for me. I love Cooper and Carr but I don't know if Cooper will ever be in the group of WRs with production like Beckham, Brown, Julio, Evans, Nelson, etc. He has all the talent in the world to do that but I just don't like the distribution I guess. It is hard to put words to it.

However, you need stud WRs to do well in fantasy especially with all of these great RBs now entering the NFL. I would try to flip Gurley for a guy like Evans.

Could you get a player like Beckham with a package deal? I'd try swinging for a homerun first.
Do NOT trade Cooper or Ajayi for Evans.
LI NHB : 7/18/2017 11:26 am : link
Mike Evans has been a keeper of mine for the past 2 years (we can only hold onto a player for max 2 years) but this is a prime example of 2 ascending players that could very well outperform the bigger ticket name in 2017.

Evans has Desean Jackson and OJ Howard added to the mix which should ultimately bring his target total down - a figure that has been a huge part of his success.

Ajayi is going to be an absolute workhorse for Miami and Cooper is an elite talent that continues to mature with a ascending QB.

IMHO you stay put here.
No way do you trade both for Evans
Sonic Youth : 7/18/2017 11:27 am : link
Ajayi and Cooper is two top tier players at two positions for one great player who has the potential to take a step back this year.
Thanks guys
Mr. Nickels : 7/18/2017 11:31 am : link
I won't even make the offer.

I still have an extra trade piece and feel i can get much more for ajayi than gurley (who I am still a big believer in)

I am a Gurley believer too but so many people are down on him and it is understandable. However, for this year it will probably still be tough for him to he consistent from week to week. Even with them getting their LT they stilk need help on the OL and Goff has to show something. I don't see him having a big year. Imo, just for this year, he will be the least productive player out of the 4.
I agree - I would rather have Ajayi/Cooper than just Evans

can you start 3 RB?

We can flex
Mr. Nickels : 7/18/2017 11:48 am : link
a RB so yes. But I would lose Cooper. I pick 5th. Team right in front of me told me he would pick him if I didn't keep him.

We have to start 3 WR and it's half PPR.

I am targeting Brady with my first pick (technically round 4)

Would like to trade Ajayi for another pick shortly thereafter to grab my WR2 or a top tight end (Gronk is kept).

do you know who'd be available at wr?
ah I didn't know that, Robbie
djm : 7/18/2017 11:53 am : link
should have read the whole OP.

No idea what to do...lol.
I am in a keeper league where you can keep between 2 and 4 players.
robbieballs2003 : 7/18/2017 12:00 pm : link
The first 2 rounds are keepers. In the third, if you kept a third pkayer then you lose your pick but if you didn't have a third keeper then you get to choose from the remaining FAs. The 4th round is the same. The 5th and on is a normal draft.

I have 3 stud keepers in DJ, Nelson, and Cooks. My 4th would be Newton. No way am I keeping him. Our league has 6 points per TD so Cam is always a top performer. I am trying to trade him for a pick.

Michael Thomas or TY Hilton whoever that team doesn't keep

Then

Demaryius Thomas
Jarvis Landry
Sammy Watkins
Doug Baldwin
Julian Edelman

Ew

I am high on Watkins this year. Think this is finally the year he is healthy but

I am picking Brady at 5 and playing it safe.

First 4 picks will be Fournette Ajayi (unless i trade him) McCaffery (or Marshawn Lynch) and Hilton/Thomas
Im not high on Cooks
superspynyg : 7/18/2017 12:59 pm : link
For 1 he played for a team that really only threw the ball and he was always the first option. In NE he is the 3rd maybe becomes the second behind Gronk and Edelman. He could supplant Edelman but who knows.

That's how I would look at it. Evans may be slightly better than Cooper (although I'm not convinced of that), but I think the greater difference is Carr and Winston.
Evans
OC2.0 : 7/18/2017 6:33 pm : link
Excellent player but not worth those 2.
I think Evans
giantgiantfan : 7/19/2017 12:55 pm : link
has met his ceiling. He's a legit WR 1 IMO just below Julio, Brown, and Beckham. I don't think Cooper, who is a WR2, has hit his yet. Ajayi performed well last year.

I think you can expect an increase in PPG from Cooper this year. It really comes down to what you think about Ajayi. Do your research. Gurley disappointed last year and Gordon scored me some good games but I am not completely sold on him for some reason.
