I was a previous generation e6 player, and I stocked up when we procured a stack of ridiculous 'spend$20-get$10off' gift cards from the Golfsmith(RIP) table at The Barclays, but I have to start thinking about what to use next. First thought is to stay brand loyal and go e6-Soft based on what I've read.
I have enough short game that I can get a lot out of a ball that checks well around the green, but my dispersion isn't so small that it makes sense for me to play Pro-V1s or B330s etc. Fairways hit are actually improving a lot the last 2 months, actually, but I still don't think it's worth the investment for somebody with my game.
Driver speed is around 101mph and I play to around a 15 these days.
They aren't expensive and have a tremendous feel off of the putter that just gives me so much confidence.
So, I've been playing hand me down old man graphite irons my whole life. I'm looking at some Ping Eye 2s steel shafts. Are they a worthwhile set to snag? Money is tight but I see some for $230 that look like they're worth a shot. I like the idea of having a 2 iron as well.
I didn't like the old e6. Also a 15 with 98 mph swing speed. I play NXT Tour S.
Friend of mine a 5 (used to be a +2), plays the Snell MTB and swears they are as good as a Pro V1 and even carries 4 yards better with irons. MTB is by the inventor of the Pro V1.
Get them online at Snell Golf. They have a Test box for $27 with two sleeves each MTB and the Get Sum - a lesser grade..Worth the try.
$157 for 6 dozen.

You can find a much better set of irons online for a similar price.
Those pings were great in their day, but technology has been come a long way since then

But I'd rather not make a brand new golf thread for this question.

Thanks J. The search continues. I may have to make a thread after all.
The balls today are very good. Unless you notice a big difference I would go with any of the balls mentioned above that meet your budget.
For me, I wait til I have a gift card or win something in a tournament.
I use those money s and spoil myself with Pro VIX s
