The boys have started out in a hole, as Monty has already given up 6 runs in the second. Beyond that, you have to question Joe's lineup - Judge, Fraizer (new guy), and Holliday all on the bench (so is Headley).
Binders doesn't want to break the string of lost series
Frazier wasn't ready in time... didn't he literally just get on the dugout?
Holliday has been awful outside of the Kimbrel HR.
Why does Judge need a day off? He is coming off his first good game at the plate since the break. I would think you want him right back out there.
Also, why is an everyday player "entitled" to a day off. What happened to everyday players playing 162 games, or very close to it. If a guy isn't struggling and doesn't catch, why can't he play every day in his early 20s?
and Girardi has been trying to find him a day off.
How recent is lately? If prior to the break, then they should have asked him not to participate in the Derby. If more recent, then you don't give him the day off the same day you sit Holliday, Sanchez, and others. You distribute the days off.
1 foot away from making this game somewhat interesting.
Didi swings at the first pitch for a lazy fly ball. His approach continues to suck in spite of his talent.
Didi is streaky. He goes into streaks where he hits everything and often comes up big, but then he goes into extended periods where he seems to be asleep at the plate.

Hmmm...well let's see. A guy who's never played every day in the MLs and frankly isn't expected to as an outfielder. A guy who carries around 282 pounds. A guy who has played every game to this point other than two. A guy who just played basically 5 games in 3 days in Boston. A guy who just participated in the HR Derby, won it in convincing fashion and was undoubtedly the busiest and most sought-after player out of all the stars of MLB. A 22 year old kid in his rookie year.
I don't know. Maybe a day off is ok? No? Ok, tuff guy.

I think part of the reason for that is his lack of approach. He chases a ton of crap outside the zone and makes some awfully defensive/protective swings in hitters' counts.
He's got some nice surprise pop for a bottom third hitter, but he really doesn't belong in the middle of a lineup.
Overall, I'm tempted to say that this lineup really needs Hicks back, but I have a feeling it just chases C-Frazier to the bench.
What I'd really like to see is this:
Hicks CF
Frazier LF
Judge RF
Sanchez C
Frazier 3B
Castro 2B
Holliday/Gardy/Ells DH
Cooper/Headley 1B
Didi SS
Buster Olney said this is the best & deepest bullpen
you were responding to Olneys comments about the bullpen. I'm not sure what them struggling to win series has to do with his comments. Besides that, a HUGE part of their problems have been the bullpen imploding. Hell, Clippard alone blew 3 or 4 games in the past week that they had leads in. They went out and improved the biggest weakness on the team that has cost them the most wins, so how the hell do you know they can't win series moving forward? That's some strange ass logic.
Go out and improve the team, but hey, they won't make the playoffs anyways because the team that they were prior to the trade was struggling in the area that they just solidified!

No sense arguing with mr know it all your are obviously not understanding my point
Holliday has been awful outside of the Kimbrel HR.
It's a day game after a night game, so Sanchez wasn't going to catch. That means he either DHs and Holiday sits, or vice versa.
Judge literally plays every day. He's entitled to a day off.

T-Frazier stepping in as a PH for his first NYY AB.
Probably the last realistic chance to make this game interesting here.
Holliday has been awful outside of the Kimbrel HR.
Molitor goes to the bullpen. Looks like it was for a RHP, somewhat surprising with Ellsbury coming up.

It was never a good idea for even 1 second.

And come the end of the year it won't even matter because we can't win series.

Oh really? You realize this bullpen has been together less than a day though, right?

Ok but i am not bashing the bullpen.. they have yet to won a series this summer going on 6 weeks now.
