Chargers' first-round pick Mike Williams might need season-ending back surgery, sources tell ESPN....
Related to his neck injury at Clemson 2 years ago?

or was this a recent injury?

Too bad, Mike would have done well.

by tweeting that surgery is not on the table now.

Related NFL.com story by Marc Sessler:

"Per NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, back surgery was on the table for Williams three or four weeks ago. Though two sources with direct knowledge of the situation told Rapoport it is not on the table now and Williams is improving."

For what it's worth. This would be a big blow to Chargers and insider optimism might be wishful thinking.

example of the draft being a crapshoot and makes you wonder how thoroughly the Chargers checked his medical history out.

While this could happen to any team, it isn't too surprising it is the Chargers - they are a poorly run organization.

Why, because they fired their HC after a 14-2 season? That kind of poorly run organization?
