-Somebody made a thread (Eric?) about McCain being ill. On it, in resposne to somebody praising McCain Eric questioned McCain's integrity and politics...and it spirawled from there?

Eric, you messed up twice. You first messed up contributing to a political discussion. Then you messed up on this thread. You very simply should have said...."I apologize for my contribution to a political discussion. We have a rule that there is no political discussion for a variety of reasons and I broke my own rule and for that, I apologize."

Eric is being beaten up over this idea that McCain is some pillar of unquestioned honor and integrity that is mortal humans can't even fathom.
He isn't.
He's being beaten up for using the announcement of a man having brain cancer to shit on his integrity and dedication.
A man who has served his country and the public, who isn't a criminal, is ill. Instead of wishing good thoughts or not commenting at all, the thread was used to say he doesn't have integrity and that the US is like 1860.

People are entitled to their opinion of the man, but part of being a grown up is being able to shut the fuck up for a second, and knowing when the timing of a comment is inappropriate. Honestly, I've had a low opinion of Eric since #44 got elected. He made some shitty comments that revealed exactly who he is.

I agree...big difference between resigning and being diagnosed with cancer. And honestly, anyone who even compares Spicey to McCain really needs to look at that comparison again.
