FF: Who are your Giants Homer Pics

BigBlueDownTheShore : 7/20/2017 4:58 pm
OBJ is a given, but who else do you guys like?

I think Perkins could break out this year
Engram as a late pick (rd 10+)
giants#1 : 7/20/2017 5:04 pm : link
I always like stocking up on RB/WR depth before going QB, so I might look for Eli late in the draft too.
Easy.
robbieballs2003 : 7/20/2017 5:07 pm : link
Perkins
Giants D
Marshall should be solid
I think Shep surprises since he was killing it at the OTAs and minicamp.
Eli

Engram is the wildcard.

It all depends on value. I think Perkins, Eli, Shepard, and the Giants D will all provide great value. Beckham is where he should be. Marshall may be overdrafted. I don't know where he is going yet. Engram is worth a late round flier.
is there really a 'value' D?
giants#1 : 7/20/2017 5:09 pm : link
Aside from the 1-2 nuts in each league, D's are almost universally drafted in the last 2-3 rounds. So it's not like you're getting a round 5 player in the 8th round.
its all about value

there's 5 or 6 roster-able Giants, the question as always is where you select them.

OBJ, Marshall, Eli, Perkins, Shepard, Engram, Vereen, Giants D.
Right here:

Yea,

I'm not in a spot where I could take Beckham, so, other than that. Perk I'm projecting as my #2 RB. Not usually anywhere where I get Brandon Marshall. I like Eli first and Kirk Cousin's as my starting QB, I think you get top talent with either of those guys. Then take Engram as my backup TE, definitely on that one.
I play in 3 leagues, and one has a lot of Jersey guys in it, so I may have to strike earlier on those Giants players, than I might otherwise.
Top 10 QBs

this year, Eli and Cousins.
I think OBJ is the 2nd receiver off the board in fantasy
allstarjim : 7/20/2017 5:33 pm : link
after Antonio Brown. Yes I like him better than Evans, Julio, and the rest.

I like Brandon Marshall as a good 3rd receiver/flex or depth. I think he's going to have a pretty good year...not a lot of yards probably but I could see him go for something like 75-975-12. I think he'll be a major target in the red zone, potentially more than OBJ.

Perkins, if you can get him as a 3rd RB, is a great value. I think he's going to put up strong RB2 numbers. I'm thinking somewhere on the order of 1175 yards and 8 scores on the ground, and give me another 200 yards and 2 scores through the air.

I am avoiding Sterling Shepard and would draft Evan Engram as a mid-tier TE2 only, if you are inclined to have a backup TE. I think Engram has big upside, but I wouldn't bet on that upside in fantasy as your starter. Too many mouths to feed and remember that Rhett Ellison and Jerrell Adams will play a role on this team as well.
And Giants Defense of course
allstarjim : 7/20/2017 5:34 pm : link
I think people will still ignore the Giants defense, so you can get them pretty late.

4th best safety in NFL...
In ppr leagues

I think Shepard will be a steal this season. 80+ catches from shep this year. Just watch. He's gonna be open all year long. Eli will be all over the slot. I know it seems unrealistic to pencil shep in for so many catches but i feel more comfortable with predicting a break out for shep than I do Marshall lighting things up. Marshall will help just not sure he catches 80-90 balls. Shep will see a ton of single coverage. Eli will love that.
I see it as Beckham Shepard combining for close to 200 catches
djm : 7/20/2017 11:21 pm : link
Engram, ellison, TEs and Marshall getting another 130 or so. The rbs get there 50-60. Eli spreads 385 completions around.

annexOPR : 7/21/2017 12:21 pm : link
I think Ellison sees a ton of snaps and Shepard loses a lot of work to Engram ... but who knows.

Beckham Marshall Engram - really tough to match up with, and Ellison boosts the pass pro/run game.
yeah
djm : 7/21/2017 12:27 pm : link
Shepard would appear to be a player that will lose some snaps due to the influx of two talented TEs. Can't argue against that. I still see him having a big year here.

Marshall could lose some snaps too. So could the RBs.
...
annexOPR : 7/21/2017 12:31 pm : link
it's all on engram. you can pretty much line him up everywhere - maybe Marshall, given his age, is the 1 who gets a breather/saved more for the redzone

you could line up Engram outside with Shepard still in the slot ... sure is nice to have options this year, huh? better than trotting out the same 3WR formation with garbage TEs.
Eli Manning
NoPeanutz : 7/21/2017 4:46 pm : link
He takes every snap and is a lock for 20tds.
Who is my Giants Homer Pic?
Big Blue Blogger : 7/21/2017 7:26 pm : link
Bobby Thomson, of course. Who else?
Eli,
oldog : 7/23/2017 9:40 am : link
and its not close. Durability, experience, an explosive receiver corps, an improving Oline, coming off an off year, a consistent record over 14 years of a high bottom, and the 2011 high as an upside to pass. This will be an Eli year. And no the Bobby Thompson thing would never be my homer thing, it still makes me sick.
