NFT: Ready Player One Trailer

Bogey : 7/22/2017 6:36 pm
Anyone else love this book? This was something I was looking forward to for ages. I was really hoping for a faithful adaption, oh well.

I'm sure I'll still see it.
Ready Player One - ( New Window )

how the book reads.
Doesn't look like the book at all.

Kinda like how the World War Z movie was unrecognizable.
That trailer doesn't grab me at all.

But I'm not the target audience for that movie.
That book was a lot of fun.

Hope the movie captures that.
Trailer was flashy

but not what I was expecting. Love the RUSH love in the book and want to see how much it plays out in the movie (not spoiling anything).

Hope it stays true to the book, since I hold it as one of my favorites of all time.
A ton of pop culture in the book

Hopefully the film will keep that
I had never heard of the book

outside of the lead-up to this film. Is it a book for kids/YA, or is a book for adults?

Trailer looked interesting. My favorite part was the sampling/modification of "Pure Imagination" from Willy Wonka.

Both, but tons & tons of pop culture references for people who are now adults. It's a decent book, decent writing, but it heavily relies on nostalgia. It's plot is more something along the lines of a young adult book. It's for nerds.
thanks
